Thank you so much for choosing my poem as first place winner. All the poems were magnificant, and I waited until now to let you know that I didn't read your poem about "Hands" because I know the claibur of writer that you are, and I didn't want to be influenced by your pen. I really did this on my own. I usually don't read other entries in a contest until I write my own because there is so much talent here. I am also a bit intemidated by the beauty with which so many write, so if I read something I think is awesome already submitted, it discourages my entry. Thank you so much for the trophy. What a wonderful contest it was. Now I will go read that poem of yours.

    All My Love,
    Renee

Thank you for the gracious comments on my poetry and sadly yes the things that I speak of are truthful. Im glad to hear that you thought I have shown a light on the subject. I am always looking for that understanding in people and the relations that they see between my work and their own lives. Once again. Thanks.

You are incredible...I'm speechless, your words are very powerful...so much so, that even if he does hit that delete button, I'm sure the energy from your letter alone will affect him. Thank you so much!

Thank you for dropping by to check on me. I wanted to let people know that I am okay... with the kids off school for winter break it has been hard to find time to write, but I am working on two pieces that I hope to post very soon. I hope things are well with you, my friend. I appriciate your thinking of me.

hey, u know that adopt thing that Conrete Angel is doin? well i was wonderin if you would like to be my "mentor"???

hey muse! my name isn't exactly degrading...its a sign of humblness and how insignificant we really are in the sight of God.
  • SusanL on January 1, 2004
Hey there, I figured since I entered your contest I ought to stop by your sight and see what you are all about. I was reading that Moo Cow Moo poem and it reminds me of my same intro to poetry, I was given AA Milne Now We Are Six for my sixth birthday and that is where it began for me. Anyway Thanks for the kudos on my hands poem. I think since I am here I will check out some of your stuff as well. Anyway Happy 2004.

I went back and checked and 'Little Over-the-Head Projector Girl' is showing up as a contest poem now, but IMs and replys, of course, still don't work. I haven't messaged Kevin mostly because I think it's my computer and not the system. Why would everyone else's work except mine? Thanks for your help, though! Maybe I'll message him after all. And for your information, I am loco. ^_~
    Peace

on a completely seperate note.. I've read some of your other critiques, and you rock my socks! as soon as I'm done consuming my time with judging this blasted contest I'm currently involved in w/ over 114 entries, I'll have to read some of your work. "dangling participles" and "deep layers"... I'm gonna take a guess that you're an awesome writer!
    peace

oh my gosh! I completely forgot I entered that poem in a contest! On my page, it doesn't say [Contest Poem] next to the poem, so I forgot I had even entered it. The All Poetry website does not work for me at all the way it should. My IMs and Reply links do not EVER work (which is why I couldn't simply respond to your comment and why I put my messages to you on your author page). Also, on my screen, the phantom masks do not at all obscure the text. When I look at that poem, the masks are on either side of the grey text which is completel on black, so it's readable. I haven't seen much of my poetry on other computers except occasionally at school, so I don't know what the format issue may be. I don't know if it's gliches in the site, my computer sucking, or a little bit of both, but stuff seems to always be wrong with this site when I'm trying to use it. For example (aside from the stuff I've already mentioned). It wasn't until very recently that I was able to upload pictures to go with my poetry. So I have no idea why my poem isn't showing up as a contest poem on my page, why the text looks legible to me but not to you, and why I can't 'Reply' and send IMs.. it actually kind of bugs me... but it doesn't inhibit (not entirely) my use of the site, so I just deal with it. Weird, huh? Who knows... WELL! Thanks for the comment on my poem and for reminding me that it's entered into a contest!

Okay. Now I am totally confused. According to my computer screen, the poem IS a contest poem....it is an entry for the contest "What May Come" in which I have also posted an entry....and when I located the poem (by the way, it makes it a lot easier for someone to find the poem you're talking about if you send them a link like this: allpoetry.com/Poem/368477 or, even better, you can use the "reply" button at the end of the comment in question, and they will get a link back to the piece and their comment.) So, in essence, I think the comment I made on your poem is exactly appropriate, and it shows up exactly where I posted it (you may follow the link above to reassure yourself of this, if you'd like.) The poem IS a contest poem. The background you selected has a border containing white "Phantom of the Opera" type masks which completely obscures the white font color you selected, making it necessary for me to highlight the poem in order to read it. All of the comment seems to fit the poem. Unless my comment also showed up somewhere else, I am very confused. Please let me know what you find out about this because I am extremely intrigued at this point.
  • Felicity Dolor on December 27, 2003
You posted this comment "Ah...excellently done. Rich in metaphor and simile. Awesomely evocative and replete with imagery. This is a wild ride through a disturbing and intriguing landscape....like Alice's journey through the rabbit hole. There is so much depth that I felt myself almost on the verge of drowning. There is nothing I can find to quibble about in this piece. However, though I love the background imagery and see its appropriateness to the substance of the poem, I was forced to highlight the piece in order to read it. It proved well worth the effort though. Thanks for sharing this awesome poem and best of luck in the contest. " on my poem 'Little Over-the-Head Projector Girl'.
  • Felicity Dolor on December 26, 2003
You very recently commented on one of my poems, a contest poem I believe. But the comment showed up on a different poem, at least, I think it did, because what you said in your comment did not fit the poem the comment showed up on, and, the poem commented on was not a contest poem... What poem were you commenting on so I can see if maybe it was just a glitche in the system?? Sorry for the bother, thanks for your time.

Thank you so much for your comment on my poem "told you". I was definitely feeling like I was in a bad place in my head, and it was so nice to read what you wrote and to feel like somebody actually understood what I was trying to say, so thank you about 15.8 trillion times.

Oh and sorry… not a social animal – thank you for the kind words and endorsement – it’s still a bit early here and my eyes are only half awake lol
