EstherG : Oh my god!!! on February 17
You're back!!! So lovely to hear from you. I don't have time to message you properly right now, but I will VERY SOON, and will comment on your most recent posts too! Hope you're ok and that you're still writing...and it really is lovely to see you back here XXX

Hey ol' pal,
Thanks for your comment on my silly Christmas tree poem. lol Glad it gave you a chuckle. I just read your author page and enjoyed it thoroughly. Lots to inspire and uplift there. Love the moo cow poem. It's great that you remember what originally inspired you to become a writer. Most don't know, like that old Neruda poem, Poetry. I'll copy it below in case you haven't read it. It has always been one of my favorites of his.
I see you're still calling me HappyWanderer up there, unless someone else has acquired my old name. Only my oldest friends here know me as HW.
I hope you've been happy and well. Give Lucy a kiss on the nose for me. I'm off to read Chatfield's article now.

Poetry
And it was at that age...Poetry arrived
in search of me. I don't know, I don't know where
it came from, from winter or a river.
I don't know how or when,
no, they were not voices, they were not
words, nor silence,
but from a street I was summoned,
from the branches of night,
abruptly from the others,
among violent fires
or returning alone,
there I was without a face
and it touched me.
I did not know what to say, my mouth
had no way
with names
my eyes were blind,
and something started in my soul,
fever or forgotten wings,
and I made my own way,
deciphering
that fire
and I wrote the first faint line,
faint, without substance, pure
nonsense,
pure wisdom
of someone who knows nothing,
and suddenly I saw
the heavens
unfastened
and open,
planets,
palpitating plantations,
shadow perforated,
riddled
with arrows, fire and flowers,
the winding night, the universe.
And I, infinitesimal being,
drunk with the great starry
void,
likeness, image of
mystery,
I felt myself a pure part
of the abyss,
I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind.
- Pablo Neruda

Hi...I hope everything's ok with you, as you haven't been around in ages. From a selfish point of view, I miss your writing - from a more personal one, I miss your perspectives and the nice messages you left. That sounds selfish too...but the message I intended was: come back! People miss you! X

Hi... Just thinking what a lovely woman you are and am sending warm thoughts your way. You have been quiet for a long time...

Stopping by to say hello. Currently reading Coomer's latest:
Pocketful of Names. Think I have a new favorite by him.
Hope all is well. Been extremely busy, and extra time at the moment is at a premium, so I haven't been on as much. Looks as if I have a lot of catching up to do...

i'm inclined to tell you that i feel really slighted in the judging of the "kindred souls"contest.not because i didn't win,but because i don't even know if my write was even read by the judge.as you know there were only a few pieces in this contest and everyone were mentioned except me.when i looked at the comments i didn't even see a comment from the judge on my poem.so,yes i feel slighted because there were only a few entries, most of them by artis and he got third place and a honorable mention.i don't mean to be petty and i don't feel i am,but when there are 4 or 5 entries in a contest and all are considered except one then i should at least had the satisfaction of knowing the i got a fair chance because my entry was at least read.
i'm bringing it to your attention because i understand that hugh is going through a lot.i wish the contest would have be extended to non-members before it was judged and then with more entrants i wouldn't have felt so slighted.not to win is one thing but to think that your work wasn't even respected enough to be read is another.even if it was to say the damn thing wasn't any good,i should have the satisfaction of knowing that my write was at least read.to have everybody in the contest mentioned and then to read the words that the other contestants shouldn't feel that they weren't any good, doen't help when out of a hand full of people you are the only contestant left.my approach would have been, hell after the three winners there are only two people left so may as well give both of them an hm.
this just reenforces my beliefs about these contest.i should have followed my first instinct and not entered.at least i wouldn't be here feeling like a total loser.how else can i feel when i wasn't even worth a read.
-
hey, I started to enter the contest tonight... started to get inspiration, but it didn't turn into anything. I'll try again tomorrow - I need sleep now

As a lifetime motorbike rider I’m not overly impressed with your long sought after poem… I wonder if it is she or I who is biased – lol.
