Happy and Sad

Happy:

Got some new shoes today,
they are so very wonderful.

Sad:

Broke my foot trying to avoid
standing on a rusty nail,
I can't wear shoes for weeks.

Happy:

The sun is so beautiful and warm,
cosy like the corners of a smile.

Sad:

Got to wear these screen glasses
because I accidentally caught the rays
when looking through my telescope,
now the doctor thinks I might
just very well go blind.

Happy:

Isn't life so fantastic when you
can just see flowers and colours.

Sad:

Well when I can see properly!
I am colour blind and it all looks mad,
confusing me no end, life sucks!

Happy:

You are bringing me down
with all your tales of woe,
I think I am becoming depressed.

Sad:

Cheer up yes, it might never happen
look on the bright side of life.

Happy:

I love you, you know, you do know that?

Sad:

I love you too, the way you feel so much.

Honey-Combed

Soft caramel clouds roam white chocolate sky,
Wispy scents of orange curve across rainbows
While below, Jelly Baby delight colour smiles:
Floating like whipped cream, light and aired
For tongued sensations to tingle tastebuds
That dream of Milky Ways' fantastic journeys,
And boiled sweet flowers throw sugar out.
Wings of honey-combed fluttering melt
Upon the touch of dawn's sticky toffee sigh,
Wafer-thin mint expressions dance finely
As songs from candy hearts whisper love;
Words that are sucked away by imagination,
Such a beautiful dream passing jumping beans.

So Cotton-Pickin' Cool

These cotton-pickin' high heels
are doin' my head in again,
I should 'ave wore my pumps
but my brain it is insane.
When the alarm clock woke me
I just dived into last night's shoes,
now I will be singing today
the cotton-pickin' howling blues.

I'm a cotton picker wearing
my cotton-pickin' shoes,
please do not interrupt me
as I cat- wail out my blues.

My ankles feel like yesterday,
reachin' for cotton hurts my back,
I think that I will just be lazy,
act a little crazy and be slack.
The one good thing about this
is I look so cotton-pickin' cool,
so sexy, and so deranged,
but I ain't no cotton-pickin' fool!

I'm a cotton picker wearing
my cotton-pickin' shoes,
