Pablo Picasso Feels Blue

Today I am feeling rather blue,
the sun is not shining very bright,
perhaps I will paint my shoe
before I go out on the town tonight.
Humanity sews its creative self in
tattered poverty's torn pocket,
some art then I will begin,
not my shoe, but a space rocket.
I am feeling extremely rosy now,
for I went to the circus for inspiration,
a brush stroke captured a cat's meow,
then I waltzed off to the train station.
I think that I will go and visit Paris,
my friend - Georges Braque still
has my Rubik's cube, he's heartless,
maybe I'll leave it him in my will.
I'd better get dressed first though,
well, I like painting in the nude,
it makes me feel artistic you know,
I am a genius and a real cool dude.

I was just sitting looking at stupid contests and thought to myself: Self I wonder where all the fun Melodies contests went to? So I came to have a look. One poem? I'm thinking I must have read one poem of yours at some point somewhere. But then again maybe not, I really am remiss in that category for everybody.
