crawls all over your page

Thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot to us. Times are very tough right now - many Marines have come home to the base we are at here severely injured and dead. I feel like there is a service twice a week and it gets so I don't even drive on a certain side of the island anymore because I don't what to see it anymore. Paul is truely my hero and as tough as it is being alone and keeping the homefront he is my rock. I am so proud of him and his guys and just hope this last tour of his will be ok and that he will come home- alive and in ONE piece.
It is small gestures like yours that makes me realize I can get up another day and function.
Thank you.
Heidi

Well, well, well, a patriot, a poet, a philosopher, a man who means what he says and says what he means, a man who isn't afraid to stand tall, state his beliefs, look you in the eye and take on any debate or just poke you in the eye with a sharp stick if it will only make you think.
MAN, it's good to know they aren't all gone. Glad I checked your page. I hope to run into you sometime in this maze of words and thoughts they call AP.

MARK!!!! Your new profile pic, do you know where it was taken? At the Perth Zoo, I'm going there next Tuesday with Chris and those 2 lovely giraffes are still there! I'll take some pics and email them. I couldn't beleive it when I popped in today and saw what you'd changed it to.

Hi Mark,
I took some advice you gave me a looong while back and actually used it. I decided to see a bit of the world... beyond my tiny island. I went to England. I visited Stonehenge. It is an experience I will remember all my life. I don't care if it is just an ancient graveyard as some people claim. All that matters to me was that it was beautiful and touched me in some mysterious way that I can't explain. I feel, just as you predicted I would, that during that time when I was open to seeing new things with an mind wide open to mystery that I was truly living. Thank you.
Marissa.

Hey Mate!! Just thought I'd pop over to you page to say hello, I have been flat out like a lizard drinking (to use an Aussie term) and it's school holidays so my computer has been appropriated!! New profile pic?...... I miss Fonzie!! LOL! (Not that you are not as nice to look at as Fonzie, but let's face it, its an oooooold pic!!) Thought of you today while at the cinema enduring Kung Fu Panda with my children, now there's a couple hours of my life I'd rather have back!!!
Cheers

You, for the record, have an absolutely brilliant site.
The jokes that appear in all seriousness (and probably are ) are still so uplifting for those of us having a shitty day
I just wanted to say I admire that

HI Mark, I came to your page in need of a laugh and I got many! Thank you! I love the 6th sense joke as well as this;
Last but not least, I have also written the white version
of the Oscar-winning song "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp
(Trying To Get The Money For The Rent)".
It's called "It's extremely difficult in our modern-day
society for a pimp to acquire the necessary capital
to secure his housing accommodations."
very white of you!!! LMAO! Thanks!

AusStar : Thanks for the Welcome on April 24, 2008
Hi Mark, Thanks for your welcome. I followed your link to your interview (which i read) and left a comment as instructed :-) Your link to the song for the wonderful Steve Irwin doesn't work anymore but here is a link to another song written about Steve Irwin by a most talented Australian singer/songwriter, who I love dearly, Colin Buchanan http://maroochydoremooloolaba.com.au/html/steve_irwin_tribute.html
Guess What!! I went shopping today and spent $600 on clothes for my trip to California (I know its almost a year away) I'll probably have to sleep in a park on a bench as I'll have no money left, but my gosh! I'll be the best dressed one there. Oh, and I am addicted to this site. Thanks! I'll never forgive you... oh I mean forget it. Kind Regards, Bex

hello Mark . It has been a long time , and I apologise. So today I stopped by your page just to drop in......and that picture of Molly is too precious . I do agree with your sentiments "a dog like Molly could make us think of creating Peace in the world". At this time in my life there are no canines or felines in my life [both passed within the last 3-4 years] , but my life is not sans any of "God's creatures". If you get a chance you can meet them on my author page as well [the ones that keep me grounded and let me know that it is not "all about me". It is about them!!!!

DestinyFate : Destiny Fate (Tonya L. Turner) on September 5, 2007
Mark, I just want to thank you for insprirng me to release all feeleings good or bad out by turning the way I feel into a rhyme of words which made me feel better and didn't seem so bad afterward. You are the best poet (my opion)I think I've seen in a very long time. You have the Comedian (my favorite) George Carlin, about you with the seriousness of this world world in which we live and you bring it into the way I see it. I love the way you you word things that I only sit and try to figure out how to word. You seem to care, I notice you take time writing back to comments posted to you even through your long long poetry or words of wisdom is what I call it. Jusk kidding about the writes being to long , I notice that as a title. You call it as you see it and that is to be admired. Just keep on writing and influencing others.

It's always fun visiting your page, Mark...Where else can I go to find the MAD magazine guy and President Bush, Rodney Dangerfield and your own portraits displayed in one place with such a glitzy-glittery background?
Hoping all has been well and take good care!

klassy lassy : Thank you, Mark, for sharing your gift of writing! on August 13, 2007
I come to Mark Rickerby's author page and other writings periodically. Each time I come away feeling a gamut of emotions, but the main one is warmth that stems from his love of humanity and verve for life. Marks always sees more than what appears on the surface, and he makes a point of revealing what he finds hidden and hypocritical. He examines with intelligence the human circumstance, his travels (both physical and mental), and shares his own experiences with insight, humor, the courage of his convictions, and wisdom.
I come away from his page always thinking...wanting to make a better difference in life, and always with a smile, or a tear, expanding my own sense of heart. My words do not come easily, and probably do not do justice in expressing my admiration for one of the most emotive, provocative, and profound writers on All Poetry.
These pages present some of the influences and observations that form the opinions and visions of just one man, but reading them will encourage you to step outside yourself, to love and explore life passionately, compassionately, and more fully.
