Thanks for the note, Kristina, although I am not really back yet. I'm just staying at a place that has a PC this week. I would NOT call it a wonderful time, I would call it very stressful. Mike doesn't have a job yet, and we don't have a home yet, my son is staying with my brother and we are staying with a friend. SOoooo, this is NOT fun. We are hoping to get settled soon, but thanks again for your kind note.

I'd like to create a picture of the AP bird for you
I don't have in my possession the proper colors or the glue
I don't even have the scissors to cut it and paste it nice
My paid membership is gone so I can't even write on rice
I wanted to scribe these special words to tell you that we care
We hope that you have a safe journey from Texas to out there
Out there where your future waits for you with open welcome arms
I'm sure that each new one you meet will delight in your charms
This may be cliche to some but it leaps from deep in my heart
Sometimes we all have to move along to make a fresh new start
So as you soar with your bright feathered friends way up in the sky
I'll say farewell to you MagicLady I won't say goodbye
Be safe, be happy, be filled with all goodness that comes your way
I know you'll come back to us real soon and this is where you'll stay
Be blessed, be confident my lady, and please always be heard
Every single time I hear your name I'll think of some rare bird
SAFE TRAVELS AND THE VERY BEST OF EVERYTHING TO YOU
I am leaving the site and I wanted you to have this.
Bless You,
Charles

Hey sweet pea!!!
Counting the days and pouting about it just a little bit... you will be on an adventure and I will be stuck in sameness land.
-
Oh! I loved it! "Today I Heard A Bird Sing". Simply enchanting!
-
Those are all birds! Am I right? Where is my 50 points?
-
So it is a good leave of absence. Well okay then I'll allow it.
I know Mari will miss you (because she just told me.) And now I have one less person to annoy. COME BACK!
Good luck and I'm happy for you.
-
I hope that the excitement and anticipation will grow, and the fear will reduce as you actually go through your move. I have moved many times, as you know, though never at my own behest - that sounds like a great deal of freedom and responsibility. Good luck in all you do!
-
Thank you Margaret, I am starting to get scared!! I'm excited, but scared. I think the military has been moving us and "telling us where to go" for so long and now we are on our own. They are moving us, but other than that, we are on our own. I'm glad we are going to family, but it is still scarey. It is just nice to know that when I sign on here, that those familiar faces will be here.

Good luck with your move Cheryl, and happy landings. I look forward to seeing you when you have settled in your new location.

Thanks so much Kristina. I am so anxious to be with my family again. I have missed my nephews and nieces growing up. They have been born and grown up, and I have missed it all. Two of them are in college already. Sad...but at least I am going home now. I'll be back soon. Stay safe, my dear friend! Love you much! Cheryl

Cheryl,
I love you sooo much and will miss you deeply. Just know that even though I haven't been online much these days, that I still think about you and I wish you all the best. Take care of yourself. Remember that life is a journey and it will take you to the places that you call home. Love you Cheryl. Stay safe and may you have a wonderful return. May the colours of the rainbow follow you always and forever.

Dear Ed,
Thanks for the note. I am going to miss the water birds so very much. I visit the Gulf many times a year, and there are hundreds of migrating birds in that area during the winter. PA is home, so I am looking forward to that. I'll be back soon.

Your choice of birds will change much as you "fly" north this summer. As an avid bird lover from Michigan, I promise to will be enthralled by the change. Where we live we have 7 or 8 raptor species fly by each week, as well as an amazing host of other groups ( including 6 out of 7 woodpeckers). You will love it,
Peace,
Ed

Well, you stated in your message above that you have been moving with the military for twenty years, so you are probably used to the culture shock that goes with it. When I moved from the east coast to the west about eight years ago, I thought I had gone back in time about ten years. I hope your family has a smoothe transition.
-
CONGRATULATIONS to you and your husband on your retirement and thank you for all your years of service to our country. I hope you both do everything you ever wanted to do. You've earned it!

A suggestion: For bonus points on the red bird, identify the flowering tree!

Oh! This is what you were speaking of! That is a beautiful bird. I shall try to think of a name for him. Hmmmmm... off to put on my thinking cap. So nice to have met you. I will be back to read more of your bird poems soon.

I know that bird. It's a Waikiki Orange beaked Boobie. Why I'd know that one anywhere. Where's my 50 smackaroos?

Thank you ... Each day is an improvement.
