Just to let you know that I still have the Two Trees that you planted for me...take care my friend and continue to write..you are Master of the Pen...as it should be...The image is portrayed well in what Rod McKuen wrote in "Watch for the Wind and Wait"....and also in "Afterthought, One"...take care of the family and keep the ink flowing....

I just stopped by today
Hope you are having a wonderful day
That's festive and really gay
Because I would have it no other way
Champagne at midnight...bootie call,
watch out for St. Nick, he ain't that tall
Drink moderately so you don't fall
And if you're quesy--lean against the wall
What started out as a little note
Became a poem the size of a boat
My head is medically afloat
My dog has now turned into a goat
Happy Holidays Gregg

How true a friend can one hope to find on line?
Will they stand by you when the chips are down
What depth can grow from a connection so fine?
How true a friend can one hope to find on line?
I have a friend across the miles, who’s truly kind
She helps to bring a smile when I am down
How true a friend can one hope to find on line?
Will they stand by you when the chips are down
Across the miles we connected by words alone
The connection stuck, we’re friends across the miles
Someday we’ll meet beyond the keyboard and the phone
Across the miles we connected by words alone
Cyber hugs are stacking up. Real ones we postpone
Until the day we meet and share hugs and endless smiles
Across the miles we connected by words alone
The connection stuck, we’re friends across the miles
love ya sweets -
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Cheryl,
Words won't come out at the moment as I reflect on this past year. We have all had to overcome hard obstacles that were tough. But now we can look at ourselves and remember the person we are... how we can change lives with a simple smile, devotion to the ones we love and have a heart so pure and it shines on every single person who we meet.
You are one of those people. It give me great pleasure in knowing such a beautiful/wonderful/passionate person like yourself. Yet I still reflect and smile and still become speechless. You bring tears of joy to my eyes -you truly do. Be proud of the person you are and who you have become today.
I love you sooo much and wish you a very Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family and a Happy New Year.
With TONS of love -forever and always,
~ Kalen

Chickadees playing Chinese Checkers
have been described as "little peckers"
Even though they do not know
rules and such (they play for show).
You wonder if they know of things
like tiddlywinks and chessboard kings.
I think they may be smarter than
some of us think (p'raps that's the plan).
Maybe we're the ones THEY watch,
a thought I had after too much scotch.
Getting paranoid? No. No. Not me.
It's just... I watched them in the tree.
Clearly they see me that is certain... think I'll just go draw the curtain.

Hi Cheryl,
I have to tell you something, I went into NYC last week,I'd had a very bad day,and just found myself there. And while I was sitting on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art a sparrow came and perched itself by me. I know everyone around me thought I was daft, but I was talking to the bird and said thank you and asked it to sit long enough for me to take a picture for you. ANd it did, and it came out so sweet! I was in there again today, I was in the bus terminal, and low and behold there was a pigeon INSIDE the building, walked right up to me and again I did the same...when I was done, what was toddling down the hall but another one. As if to say me too! I want to send them to you.. so if you have an email address, I will send the sparrow to you, and the other when it's developed. I was hoping so much that those two pigeons would've gotten on the line. That would have been priceless! I will try to link it here. I don't know how yet but if i can I will.
Wanted you to know that you are being thought about.

We seem to have something in common-- birds!! I am a fourteen year old girl in Virginia, and I LOVE birds. I love to go birdwatching, and I volunteer at a nature center, and I just love reading about birds. I hope to talk to you sometime, that would be great!
