I am just now realizing that you are only 17 years old.

Are you sure you're not a wise ancestor come back? At this rate you should be published by age 21.

The greatest writers in the world, do not write for the masses. Though the most popular and wealthy may, they are never the greatest because they have put money and fame above their own heart and soul they can place on a page.

And one more for the road!

They always ask at the doctor's office why you are there, and you have to answer in front of others what's wrong and sometimes it is embarrassing. There's nothing worse than a Doctor's Receptionist who insists you tell her what is wrong with you in a room full of other patients. I know most of us have experienced this, and I love the way this old guy handled it----------

An 86 year old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk....

The Receptionist said, "Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?"

"There's something wrong with my dick", he replied.

The receptionist became irritated and said, "You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that."

"Why not? You asked me what was wrong and I told you," he said.

The Receptionist replied; "Now you've caused some embarrassment in this room full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear or something and discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private."

The man replied! , "You shouldn't ask people questions in a room full of strangers, if the answer could embarrass anyone. The man walked out, waited several minutes and then re-entered.

The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, "Yes??"

"There's something wrong with my ear", he stated.

The Receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her advice. "And what is wrong with your ear, Sir??"

"I can't pee out of it," he replied.

The waiting room erupted in laughter.

Mess with seniors and you're gonna lose!

And... a random joke for today:

    NEW SUPERMARKET

The new Supermarket near my house has an automatic mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of a thunderstorm. When you approach the milk cases, you hear cows mooing. When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cackle. So far I have been too afraid to go down the toilet paper aisle.

This is a tribute to a dear young friend.
It is a pleasure to know you, Jenny. I do hope we remain friends for a very long time. I respect your talent and love your sense of humour. And, your accent, so purely "English" makes my spine shiver!!
Do not become bogged down in Winklings, ever, but I welcome you there as well. Most of all, I just welcome you.

    Oscar Wilde Rawks My Sawks!!
He is soooo funny. Another good quote from my last performance (Lady Bracknell):
'To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune. To lose both looks like carelessness!'
    Hehehe...I loved playing Lady Bracknell...

Haha...it might seem like I'm stalking you or something. But, well, I kind of found my way here, and perhaps because of time on my hands I decided to lurk around. I really enjoy your poetry, and if it's alright, I put you in my favorites.

    Have a nice day!

  • Macey Muse on January 29, 2006
Thank you I just had a look at the posted message with the poem in, and I realized that like I feared the AP messenging system completely mucked up my formating... The words in brackets were supposed to be diagonally below the words they echoed, and the repeated echoes should have been like a set of steps going down... Ah well. I'll have a look at the beginning and see if I can make it more interesting before I post

Hey there Macey, I read over your Echo poem you sent me - its fantastic! The way you presented it was ingenius. Being a lover of greek mytholoygy I already knew quite a lot about the story of Echo -- y'know apparently the original story says Naricissis (sp?) fell in love with a water nymph and stared at her until he died...but oh well. I favoured the end more then the beginning, which isn't the best way to go - you need some thing towards the beginning to hold the reader's attention, like a nice descriptive verse - I dunno, I too am a wordy writer..but otherwise 'Echo' is wonderful and you should definately submitt it into this contest - keep writing!
    Steph.
