leaving a for you to find.... I can't wait til ya open it!
I came to see what I could do
to make you laugh and giggle too
so when you take the ribbon free
and lift the lid look out you'll see
it's waiting there to jump with glee
Vivacious hugs to you from me!

You've just been sent a Santa Sandi hug-o-gram
Happy holidays!

Mary! Haven't spoken to you in quite some time...
I'm running another sonnet contest. I know that I left you and Jim to finish the last one (many apologies), but I'd very much appreciate it if you'd consider judging again. This time, I'm trying to put together a team of good judges (maybe five or six of us). You won't have to comment on every poem, so long as you read them and help judge.
Just throwing that your way. Hope that you can join us!

Sadly I removed it from the contest as i was very disapponted as i had expected a lot from it i know i'm new to Ap and may have to get used to its ways but ....
-
Thank you for sending the link as it is hard to comment on a poem that has been removed from the contest. I realize I am a week late in commenting and am sorry, but could not have done so without your link. So I appreciate you sending me the link.
-
hi this is regarding your contest held in memory of Del though i Admit of not knowing Del and I did enter in the contest, waht has actually disappointed me is that there was not even a comment on the contest poem i had so much hopes on it may i request you to have atleast comment on my work here is the link to it allpoetry.com/Poem/2184602 i had a lot of expectation from this well...

Hello Mary dear... I hesitate to ask because I know how busy you have been, but I saw you were logged on and could not help but at least put it out there... Just moments ago I posted a poem and it is one that has become rather ... dear?... to me quite fast... If you have the chance, and do not feel compelled to rush into it by any means! I would LOVE to get your invaluabel feed back on this piece!

MaryK,
Any chance my work Rodin's Rebuke in Sonnet Form is sufficient for consideration of membership in this group? allpoetry.com/Poem/2198260
It's iambic heptameter, not pentameter.
Thanks,
Mark

Good morning,
One of the problems with this site is that once you post something you really want people to look at, you can't post another poem and bury it.
I guess I will have to wait for my sonnet fix.

 'allo, Mary!

Geesh with the trophies.
Thank you for the kind words Mary. I'm almost flattered to the degree of embarrassment.

A prayer sonnet from Australia, for you, Mary.
Shall I compare you to an August night?
You are more secretive yet light by far.
West winds have blown and polished soft leaves bright,
And winter’s rest has come with evening star.
How we have noticed chill in shades of clouds;
Cold tears have streamed on hills from heaven’s face;
Deep fogs from mortal eyes, the moon enshrouds ~
And you, all mystery and Beauty’s trace.
Know: each black winter’s night shall never gloom
Nor leave behind our silent times of tryst.
The morning glows with yellow wattle bloom;
No dying day is seen in rising mist.
So love me into springtime’s path, my God,
So lift me if I falter where I’ve trod.
by & from Ron.
(PS I am not a sonnet writer but this is an honest 'go'. xxx)

Hey, Mary K!
I see you like MargaretG's work, too.
I just started reading a small poem book by Emily Dickenson! I could never get into her work before, but I think God has developed my poetic tastes since joining this site.
I also grew up living next to a cemetery. We used to walk over there and look at gravestones all the time.
I think I'm going to enjoy getting to know you!
I've tried several different forms on my own page you might like to check out. You can be sure I'll be reading more of yours!
For His Glory,
Natalie

I've just recently read the second most life-changing book for me next to Mere Christianity... It's called "Velvet Elvis" by Rob Bell. You'll love it... I'm reccommending it to people like crazy.
-
 !!! YOU were mary 6?...
(wouldn't it be something if I never caught that?)
How have you been, Mary? You've been awfully quiet lately and I'm worried about you a bit. Drop me a message.

Happy Mother's Day Mary!
-
Whenever you have time, I would be glad to!
-
Let's collaborate soon?

Thanks for thinking about it Mary. Grandchildren and good business are wonderful reasons for not accepting an invitation. Best of luck to you in all things.
-
Margaret, I am not sure I could do it justice or hold my own with the questions on this. I have wanted to apply for the Winklings, but as things are still hectic here with grandchildren and business picking up-- I do not want to commit to anything I'm not sure I can keep up with. I'm on and off and somewhat scatter-brained these days. (Though things are going better and I am grateful for that, it is still up and down.)
-
Mary, would you be willing to read this poem, The Altar by George Herbert, and discuss three questions about it? oldpoetry.com/opoem/4251
It is part of a rather involved contest among the Winklings, which will take a week or two at the end of the month. The time period is long, and between us I think we can do very well, whatever may be asked.

Happy Easter! s ~genie~

Thank you so much for the resource info!

One of my first journalistic adventures, or misadventures, concerned a comment on Grant Allen, who had written a book about the Evolution of the Idea of God. I happened to remark that it would be much more interesting if God wrote a book about the evolution of the idea of Grant Allen. (The Everlasting Man)

George MacDonald's sermons are hard to get a hold of, but their copyrights have all expired so I'll link you to a couple pages. They're a lot to read so I'd reccommend taking it a bit at a time... you might want to print them out.
This first one is an anthology of thoughts that Lewis put together (that were written by MacDonald). Scroll down past "Preface"
lib.ru/LEWISCL/mcdonalds_antology.txt
And here is a copy of his "Unspoken Sermons"

Margaret, That is my heidi dog. She is my constant companion...and I do mean constant.
Happy spring to you too! There is snow on the ground here but I can still feel the spring in the air.
-
Dear Mary, who is your new canine friend?
Happy Spring!
