as i think the only thing that has held mankind back is christianity

Why not suicide, or murder or rapists or child abusers (ugh! my most passionate hate of all) or kidnappers, or robbers, or goverment ( ) or liars, or theives, or bombers, or hindus, or muslums ( a lot of them) or abortion, or the law, or okay so the list goes on forever. But I highly doubt christianity is the only thing that holds mankind back. after all, there was a lot of crap going on long before Christianty was very popular.

And, whether or not I agree with you (being anti-religous or not) does not change the fact that all christians are not bad people as loni siad. I mean, it's almost as crazy as saying every hindu is a bad person, or every buddist is a bad person or every American, every French person, everyone brown-haired man, every jewish person, every german borned male etc. There isn't any one group of people who all can be categorized as 'bad'. To say so, is just ignorant.

Personally I keep my views to myself and think that everyone is intitled to their own opionon about life, religion, money and anything else. Especially religion though. You wanna be hindu, be hindu! Makes no difference to me. lol

But I agree, conservatives are kinda crazy.

So anywyas, I saw your contest and stopped by to say hi and read some of your poems. I'll keep reading too.

    -Faithful Dreamer

    P.S Have a nice day!

let's say that you have an incredible 'one percent of all the knowledge in the universe.Would it be possible, in the ninety-nine percent of the knowledge that you haven't yet come across, that there might be ample evidence to prove the existence of God? If you are reasonable, you will be forced to admit that it is possible. Somewhere, in the vast knowledge you haven't yet discovered, there could be enough evidence to prove that God does exist. Let's look at the same thought from another angle. If i were to make an absolute statement such as,"There is no gold in china,"what is needed for that statement to be proven true? I need abolute or total knowledge. If there is one speak of gold in china, then my statment is false and i have no basis for it. I need absolute knowledge before i can make an absolute statement. Conversely, for me to say,'There is gold in china", does not require that i have all knowledge.I just need to have seen a speck of gold in the country, and the statement is then true. To say categorically,"There is no God" is to make an absolute statement. For the statement to be true, I must know for certain that there is no God in the entire universe. No human being has all knowledge. Therefore, none of us is able to truthfully make this assertion. If you insist upon disbelief in God, What you must say is," Having the limited knowledge i have at present, I believe that there is no God." Owing to a lack of knowledge on your part, you don't know if God exists. So, in the strict sense of the word, you cannot be an atheist. The only true qualifier for the title is the one who has aboslute knowledge, and why on earth would God want to deny his own existence? The professing atheist is what is commonly known as an "agnostic"..have fun being an atheists

you are sooooooooooo twisted......which generally helps generate very good poetry......but alas...im afraid for you this is not the case.
for how sick you sound you should be able to write some pretty fuckin sick stuff, which i do enjoy....
instead i find it to be generic and boring.
anyways i would suggest striving to come up with something a little more abstract, im sure your capable of it.

Apparantly now I must kill all of you because a Jesus lover just reminded me that I have no morals.

Nice page I agree religion was and still is the anchor slowing down the ship.

"...as i think the only thing that has held mankind back is christianity"

Let's just say that all the bible is poppycock and all of the Christians are idiots. It's a way of controling the masses, Christianity is. The bible says don't kill, so people who have faith don't kill. The bible says live in the likeness of God, so people who have faith in Him (and that's a good 75% of the world) try to live in His image. So even if it is all bullshit, it is a good way to controll people. Imagine if there were NO religion, and everyone did what they wanted with no fear of Hell and no desire to go to Heaven; people would murder, and steal, and the world of human civilization would probably have ended many, many years ago. Social reform, that's all it is. It's just a way to keep people in line. Seriously think about that. I don't want you to be a Christian, I just want you to imagine if NO BODY else was, then all morals would go to shit.

hi i wanted to say thanks for reading and commenting on my poem. well once those words leave my head and turn into poems, i pretty much leave it to the reader to feel what they like. so your feeling "eerie" may not have been intended, but im glad it made you feel something instead leaving you cold! its happened before. (sigh) anyway, looking forward to reading your work.

I'm a guy as well, this is based off of observations from what's happened to friends of mine, I'm a male feminist so yeah. But this poem was on how fucked up the sexual double standard is. Wasn't about rape foresay, although rape gets tied into it because people are known especially in high school for calling girls' sluts when that happens to them even though obviously there's nothing they did to bring that on themselves to begin with. Thanks for the comment though man.
  • wbiro on March 3, 2005

Hi black sabbath, I was wondering if you think it would be ok for me to submit my "Doctor from hell" poem into your dark poetry contest. I know you have read it but I wanted to ask what you thought , to see if it was ok. I didn't win anything as of yet in any contest for it So I wanted to give it another shot in at least a real dark poetry contest and not these lame ones that I have been entering. Also, I wanted to know if it was possible of adding another one that I am working on now which is a new horror poem I am writing and it will be fresh as it is yet submitted. Another words it is new and it would be submiited into your contest first. Let me know, and thank you for putting the real deal out there!!!

-operetic melody- CRADLE OF FILTH RULES! (unhealthy obsession) I love your taste in music. Cannibal Corpse isn't one of my favorites but I still like them. Have you heard Switchblade Symphony? They're more mellow gothic stuff.
