Happiness surged in me when you were near

Today it seems we keep drifting apart- despite my best efforts
You don’t seem to want this friendship
So now I’m cold as stone

I miss your smile
I miss your laugh
The silly games we used to play
I miss your teasing
I miss your kindness
Seeing the face that never failed to comfort me
I miss your jokes
Your childish ways
Truth or Dare, Fishticuffs, Webcam cuddles
You chased Boredom away

I know I’m hated by all, but you seemed so different
Yet you pushed me away like others did
When you were swallowed by pain,
What wrong did I do?
I’d give anything for a slice of yesterday with you

You have changed so suddenly
Drastically,
I tried to be a good friend
I begged, reached out to you but you walked away
Why did this happiness have to end?

This scorn
This anger
Is the reason I cry
This indifference
This bitter change I so despise
The way you lash out without warning
Hurts like nothing else

You seem so far away,
So different from the astounding friend I knew
I can only wonder
Why do I anger you?

You’ve turned your back on me
And I’m watching from afar
Tears blur my vision, I can barely see

As this poem comes to an end, do hear my plea
Give me back my joyful friend, please come back to me
