Ogreatbaldone on December 4, 2004Hey Littlebrother, You and your mom touched my heart today in a large way so I thought I would write you a little something hope you like it . here goes
Please momma dry your tears
ogreatbaldone didn't mean to make you cry
He says I'm a good writer for my years
And he seems like a nice guy
*
he only wanted to share his love
for a son he holds so dear
who was sent by God above
to give purpose to his years
*
I know my Dad's not with us
for that there are many reasons
I know it's unfair and unjust
But we get through season by season
*
I will feel your comfort as I keep growing
I will feel your hand to guide my way
I'll change so much without knowing
But you'll see it everyday
So when my Daddy I am missing
just come and hold onto me real tight
I will put up with your hugging and kissing
It will help me sleep at night.
As I grow into a man
And start my own new life
I will look for someone just like you
to take as my wife.
*
Peace and love to you both

xXLoveXx on December 4, 2004you are very talented for someone at your age and i wanted to give you a boast of confidence to inspire you to continue writing the way you do. you will notice that as you get older you gain more knowledge and your poems become great. your writing as of now are amazing that bring a smile to my face. a smile i haven't seen in a long time. my childhood years are over. yours are just beginning. cherish them and save your poems somewhere safe so you can look back on them in the future. i gave the trophy for that very reason.

brushfire on June 8, 2004I am so jealous. I wish I could have started writing so young. There is such an aura of innocence about your poetry that amazes me. I am really impressed with you. Keep up the writing. It is an amazing gift that you should always keep with you.

Barbara on April 18, 2004Hi there LittleBrother!
I would like to welcome you to Allpoetry. This is a wonderful place to share your writing with others, and to enjoy the variety of works posted here by those who share in your love of poetic expression. Allpoetry is an interactive community, which means you should comment on 4 poems for every 1 you post. The more poems you read and leave a comment on, the more your name will be seen and the more people will want to read your work.
Help - The Help link will give you more information about the site. It is an excellent page to stop at, and will answer most of your basic questions. If you have any questions about the Help page, or the AP Policy, allpoetry.com/special/policies , you can ask any of us for help. The Moderators are highlighted in blue, while Site Greeters are in green. Click on the (IM) beside the name in the poet list, type your question into the small box that will appear just below the chatterbox, and send!...
is just a mouse click away!
Membership - As a note of thanks from the site, all new members are given a free four-day trial preferred membership when they join. This allows you to post pictures with your poems and on your author page. Once the trial is over, you will no longer be able to enjoy these special benefits unless you purchase a membership for yourself. Although a membership is not required in order to post poems or comment, it does make the AP experience a bit more exciting. Further details are in the Store link at the top of the page.
Contests - Each month the Site Greeters host a contest for new poets, and allpoetry.com/contest/563435 is the one for April. At the top of the screen you will notice a Contests link, where different AP poet-hosted challenges will help inspire your creative talents, and allpoetry.com/Column/307514 is an interesting column that describes contests and how they are judged.
Emoticons - You may have noticed the emoticons, or 'smilies' that people add to comments, and the chatterbox. A list can be found here-> allpoetry.com/Column/306041
Promoting - Two options to promote your work are the Shameless Promotion section, and the Feature section. Please do not promote in the Chatter Box, Instant Message, or the Bulletin Boards. A moderator or greeter will ask you to stop, and you could be 'fined points'.
I hope you enjoy yourself here at Allpoetry, or at one of the sister sites: Storywrite, Allphilosophy, and Oldpoetry (links at the bottom of this page). If you have any questions you can IM me and I will be happy to help in any way I can. If you would like to meet the other greeters, please stop by our page, allpoetry.com/poets/AP%20Greeters
