Hi there, just popped in to see if things had changed but it seems not, perhaps what i term as good work is now bad... or perhaps i'm finally just plain old!

Glad to see there are one or two oldies still here though.

Hi Kevin. You likely know yet when I come across a background not edited I always let poets know can edit author page to change background to one just like on poems. Once an AllPoetry Greeter told me things like this are left to we members to share so poets learn to share and support one another here.
  • Sabindi on November 5, 2006
Hi again Kev. I totally agree with your sentiments and like yourself, I too try to post contests to get people to write about things other than themselves. I get so sick and tired of all the mushy love poems, all the "woe poor me" poems" and all the sick poems about cutting and self mutilation. I too don't know what we can do to improve the standard of this site, but I do suggest that you contact Stuart Higginson and chat to him about this, as I know that he is trying to set something up. I think that the more people such us you, Tam, DancingInTheRain, Nanette, Stuart Higginson, myself and others, get together and try to work something out, the more chance we have of making a change. What are your thoughts on this? Perhaps if we can get enough of us like minded poets together, we can present something to the site managers and moderators to make changes, whereby anybody under 18 has their own space, leaving AP, open to serious poets only. Perhaps, we should start a group for people over 18 or something?
I look forward to your thoughts on this. Love, hugs and all my blessings. Marilyn

Hi there Kevin and yes I have to agree that the standard on this site is sadly slipping, but I beg you, please don't leave. Several others on this site have also commented on how this site is going downwards. Perhaps there is a way where we can band together to make this site better. I know that Stuart Higginson was going to work on trying to find a way. If all usn serious, aspiring poets leave this site, then it will really go from bad to worse. Would love your thoughts on this. Love, hugs and sunny smiles. Marilyn

Hello! About ur comment on my fishy poem...well...i know it doesn't have consistent rhymes, but that's the whole point...Writing smth funny, not soooo serious and deep...i just wrote it in like 5 minutes and sometimes, u just have to have fun a bit...Shouldn't take life sooo seriously all the time, right?
  • NYC-Indie on February 22, 2006
I agree with you, but you don't need to ask me to join. I don't run the group, plus it's a no application required group. If you'd like to join, just join! We're always happy to have more recruits in the Anti Emo Army

Well, did you get to read rosemary Sutcliff?
  • DisgruntledBadger on October 20, 2005
Your contest "On the Beach" was quite thought-provoking for me, and I must thank you for sponsoring it. Haven't had the honor of reading Ms. Sutcliff's work yet, but tomorrow as soon as the library opens, I shall most certainly be pestering them for her books!

I don't like forcing my poems on people, but given you admitted interest in space - expressed with ioncreasing eloquence and beauty, I might add! - you might be interested in my poem "Dirge for a Defeat," which is not quite necessarily about what it might seem to be about.
