Kaitlyne on May 13, 2004I did, but my tv antenna has been messed up and my niece is always watching rugrats when it is on so I don't worry about it. I hope that it gets warmer here, but I don't want it to be as hot as it was last year. That was completely miserable. Anyways, I gotta get going. And, and time you need advice, feel free to ask. I've got lots of it.

It really is boring. I go to school, I go to work, I talk to my best friend, and future husband, I fix dinner, I give Katya, my niece, a bath, I put her to bed and watch the news. That's the way it is lately. Granted, I'm very blessed to have the people I have in my life there but sometimes it's just a tedious routine. Oh well, that's life for ya, and that's why I have poetry and message boards, to entertain myself when Adam is busy and Katie is in bed. LoL!

Kaitlyne on May 7, 2004Salt Lake City, UT in the United States and No I don't support what Bush is doing I think it is pointless and stupid of him. He doesn't have a system of control like there is needed in Iraq to control His OWN PEOPLE so I think that he shouldn't try to control other countries' citizens. LoL Sorry my opinion got the better of me there for a second. Anyways, I live in Salt Lake City! It's boring here, but I had fun the last time I went to England.

Kaitlyne on May 6, 2004The best tips that I can give you not only from one writer to another, but as a friend is to write from your heart, and from the experiences in life. I've had many poets outside of Allpoetry comment on my poems because I write them from experiences in my personal life. Poetry is simply emotion put to words, just like dance and ballet is emotion put to music. The best way to become a better writer is to write what you feel. It was a good start writing about your favorite things, because that is you. Let your poems be a window into your soul, let them reflect who you are inside.

Kaitlyne on May 4, 2004sure thing kiddo. Do you know the differences between symbolism, similies, metaphors, personification and different writing aspects like that?
If not, I am going to let you know. Using symbolism is what I did in my poem Strong. That also involves a lot of imagery. That tree in the poem is a symbol in my life that has always represented strength throughout the hard times. A similie would be if I were to say something like "The sky glows just like a sapphire" a metaphor would be saying that something is something like the sky is a pool of oceanic blue. Things like that. Imagery, you create a picture with your words and with personification you are giving human characteristics to inadimate objects. That would be saying that the wind sings or whistles. If you have anymore questions or need help with phrasing and things feel free to ask. Ciao. -
