mommajackson : I am glad you are rethinking your decision. on August 16, 2007I also wanted to tell you, that that site I told you about also copy writes your work for you. And I also save my work to disk, this way if someone tries to rewrite my work I have more proof. That company has their copy and I also have mine. Put a time and date of when you wrote your poems and go from there.

mommajackson : This write is for you on August 14, 2007I feel the same way, people here ahve their favorites. And they only look at those, but you know what. Thats ok, go to poetry.com. And that is where I first started. And I was nomatied 2007 Ambassador of the year. After writing not one but two poems that editors loved. So don't be discouraged by this site. (The People Here)
Because there are other ways to get you work looked at. After being gones for four years, I started writting again, and just this year I went back to this site and they (the editors love my work). I have Editors from the U.K. wanting to publish my work in their Anthology Series. And I have been asked to write childrens book. All this just happened, not because other people look at my poems but because of editors. Be encouraged and keep doing what you love.

Never knew you were here. 2 golds and 4 bronz. well doin better than I but I will continue to stay...Who cares what others think...It is about what you think and feel. Dont let them choose your feelings for you.....think before you leave for good. I would have loved to read your work, but it seems you have deleted them....

You must understand there are SO many people out here they kind of can get lost. So don't feel lost anymore; let us read your writing, unfortunately I am a rhymer although I also do forms and free verse too. Hate to see you leave, I don't know you but it sounds like you have had a bad experience, I have had nothing but good experiences on AP. Maybe I can help somehow? Don't be a quitter!

Hating shit don't change it none, and it is a good place for storage, and all the chummie clubs is true too. And for the most part the comments are shit too, even when you get them. (Folks is mostly afraid to say what they truly think)--but there is much to learn if you are big enough to dismiss the childishness, there are many fine poets here, check my favorites list here if you do not believe me on that score. I recommend Mushika most highly. On my home page there is a list you might find enjoyable.
Further, what you say is true, the coffee houses the street, the back alleys, the meadows and the fields are where you will find your Art, but you need a place for it, regardless of it's usefulness, and there will be times when someone will come by and recognize it, if you are brave enough to wait for it.
There is no better place on the web, and the web is the future, sadly--

Yes, many poets on this site aren't good, infact some really suck, but there are a lot that also deserve credit for being great poets. I'm sorry that you can't find what you're looking for here, but perhaps you were just looking in the wrong places.
And frankly, if you are going to be so snobish about allpoetry, then I am quite glad that you are leaving. -
Zir Ipol on August 13, 2007AP doesn't matter much. Just another myspace for youths to roam. What it sounds like your looking for can be done by some friends and a publisher. Poetry readings, cafe's, cheep housing in urban cities. Find the pulse to get at the real blood of this art. I like here as a storage space but I don't sacrifice doing readings or looking for others in real life with the same interest in beat poetry and art. It's hard to find though, group creativity seems to burn out quicker these days. I don't think you're and asswhole, just frustrated with a dead scene.
