    Hi hun...Thanks for the wonderful comment on 'The Lady'.. Your words about Peter Pan hit home for me in a big way. It's a long story but I'll make it short. You see I breed and show Newfoundlands. Most people believe Nana was a St Bernard, but she wasn't. She was a Newfoundland. During the 1800's Newfoundlands were used to watch over the children of upper middle class families. Not able to afford a governess, the dogs were used to watch the children while the mother was busy elsewhere. Very common practice. Todays Newfies are mostly black but back then and still available today were the 'Landseer' varity ( white with large black markings) They were named for the artist who used them as models for his paintings. The breed was also favored by Lord Byron. He wrote a very moving epitaph to his dog Boswan. You can read it on my authors page. So you see, you comments mean a great deal to me since I simply adore the breed... I type this as I look down to see my Newfie, Blu, sleeping by my chair... Thank you so much for the lovely thoughts...
