  • ShaShay : Loss os a baby on August 5
I'm so sorry to know you and your g/f went through this. I didn't want to enter the contest but here is something I wrote after I went through the same thing.

    MY SWEET CHILD

He never opened his eyes or held my finger.
I never smelled his sweet breath that only a newborn has.
We never taught him to walk or sang a song with him.
He was too weak to stay with us.
    BUT...
He never saw the ugliness in this crazy world
or held a ”joint" in his hand.
I never smelled liquor on his breath.
We never worried because he was late coming home,
Or had to tell him to "TURN THAT MUSIC DOWN!"
He was too special to stay with us.

Okay, so I don't fit your description of an AP Mom on your page (I'm your age and straight) but I'm fairly sure that this is all worth it. Otherwise how would so many people stomach all this crap?
    Love the page.

"People try to tell me she's not my daughter. I tell them that its not just blood that makes a parent, then I'll invite them over some holiday to prove it."

True statement that; don't need to share blood to be a parent
I say that bout my Step Daughter; she's mine without the blood.

    Great page

thanks for returning my comment. :] I'm especially happy to hear that you enjoyed my poem "in circles." because it's so different from what I typically write. Best of luck with your writing, too!
