  • twaintwine : Hooked by the Cows on June 12, 2008
I've read one not so good poem, and then, curious, visited here and found the cows. Completely stunning. Trippy, eerie, etc. I will look forward to more cow-like experiences, I hope!
  • EvilKate : Merry XMas or Existential moment of your choice! on December 25, 2007
I haven't seen you much of late or (to my shame) read you much. I never did forget those early conversations though. I hope you find a peace between your needs and your wants this year and the next and onward.

  • moonfog : Love is, yada yada yada on April 7, 2007
Love matures like a barrel of fine whiskey, but sometimes an old drunkard breaks in and empties it out. Then you have to wait patiently for the next batch to age properly...

I like Sandburg too. His biography on A. Lincoln was exceptional, as his poetry which is unique. So solid.
  • ChillyGeorgiaPeach on November 8, 2006
I noticed that your little phrase is in Hawaiian. Although I lived there for a few years, on the island of Oahu, I didn't pick up much lingo other than Aloha and mahalo (sp? See? I'm bad at this). Translation for your phrase?

"the ordinary man's experience is chaotic, irregular, fragmentary. [He] falls in love or reads Spinoza, and these two experiences have nothing to do with each other, or with the noise of the typewriter, or the smell of cooking; in the mind of the poet these experiences are always forming new wholes" - T.S. Eliot.

Welcome to AP. Thanks for your kind comment on my I'm a Poet poem I had featured earlier. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy your time on this site, and that you get the opportunity to take some classes, to enter many contests and comment on many poems. The best this is having fun while writing - congratulations on your first trophy. That is a good feeling that just makes you write more contest entries. If you need any help, just IM me and I will do what I can to assist you.
