  I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your stopping by to read some of my poetry. I’ve read and enjoyed some of yours, as well, and I’ll look forward to seeing new postings from you.
  
  I notice on your author page that you list Neil Gaiman as your favorite author. I happened to be present when Neil received the Stoker for American Gods June before last (funny sidebar: the award is shaped like a haunted mansion, complete with a hinged front door; if memory serves me right, I seem to recall that Neil broke the door off the goddam thing before he even got it out of the banquet room). The most impressive thing about his winning that year was that in doing so he beat out Blackhouse by King and Straub, some piece of shit by Jack Ketchum (Red, I think it was), and Ray Bradbury’s From the Dust Returned, which is a book that essentially took Ray fifty years to complete. Gaiman took them all, hands down—as well he should have. Anyone who hasn’t read his work is missing out, and that novel still ranks as one of my all-time favorites.
  
  Anyway, somewhere I have some pictures from that night of him and his busted award. I’ll see if I can dig them up and send you copies. You might enjoy them.

  Oh yeah, much thanks for your comment on my poem "The Grey Man". Your analysis of the poem is right on, just in case you were wondering. And I think you gave me one of the highest compliments a writer can be given:
  "You make it look easy."
  Wow, I didn't realize I did. I just really like writing in general and thus have a decent amount of pratice with it, either in poem form or essay form, they are both interesting to me. Though in response to that part of the comment, I have to admit that this poem kind of did write itself. I must have been channeling the X-Files or something, haha.
