Unspecified : Books! on November 26, 2008I just recently read "Haunted" by Chuck Palahniuk (sp?). It was amazing. Full of all sorts of philosophical babble and fun stuff that makes me think, all in Chuck's bitter, cynical, and sarcastic view of human nature. Be warned though, it's very, very graphic.

ScreaminMime : Good fiction book on November 23, 2008Roses are red,
Capitalism got mugged.
A great fiction book to pick up,
without a doubt, Atlas Shrugged. -
Gafa : Books! on November 19, 2008If your after a light read before bed i would recommend Max Barry - small time Australian author (can get his books on amazon) -
"Jennifer Government" is especially good (my favorite book) its split into three sections - each chapter being from the perspective of someone different and at the end of each section several of the characters meet in a climatic event + i love how blunt many of the characters are - makes events seem very real
Jennifer Government is a combination of Barry's predictions on the future of politics and an action thriller, really well written and keeps you turning the pages! (read it cover to cover the first two times) -
lunarlunacy on November 19, 2008i noticed you were inquiring upon suggested fiction.. Tom Robbins any of his earlier works. The last three lacked his raw methodical madness but anything before Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates I found to be gospel. Very nonlinear and iconoclastic but I tend to find that a virtue, not all do. Beyond him, most modern fiction i have found to be comatosingly mundane, esp. King. If ya like classics.. Schopenhauser or Heschel .. two great dark/light, pessimism/hope type philosphers. Rembaud (yeah i mispelled the shite outta dat) but yeah, that blasephous frenchman. shout back with what genres you are into.
anyhow just sayin howdy and have a groovy day. good to see a fellow texan in the midst.. To the Republic,
A. -
