Sorry to hear about your cat. I know how pets are like your very own children. We had to put my dog down last she. She was suffering with cancer. I miss her. It is near to the anniversary of her death. Seems unreal that she is not about. She was 13. My condolences.

[delete ] [history] [reply] I am just keeping you up to date on my progress. I have been up since 4:35 AM. But the site was updating some stuff so I could not get on here right away to start reading entries. But I am now down to 16 entries left to read. You may ask why I was up so early. Well, my Aunt Tammy called this morning around 4:11 AM saying my Uncle Cliff is in a coma and having a hard time breathing. So we do not know if he is going to come out of it or if we are going to be having a funeral sometime within the next week. He is bounced back before. But this is different because the doctors told my Aunt to start calling family. Which tells me he is near deaths door. So like I said before, if I do not have this contest judged by 11:30 tonight you can take the 100 points and judge it.

I have off tomorrow (September 4th) so I will try to read them off and on throughout the day and try to get it judged if my Dad will let me online. You see my Dad is without a job. So he is online more than me because he is looking for jobs. Plus he is trying to file an appeal for unemployment. And since it is football season he lives in the room in which the computer is in. Which all the above has made it hard for me to judge this contest in a timely matter. So if I do not have it judged by the time I go to bed tomorrow night, in all truthfulness, I will let the moderators do what they need to do. But please give me until 11:30 PM tomorrow night to let me judge it on my own before you jump in and help. Thank you for the reminder. I really am trying. This is the first contest I have run that I have had this problem with. I really don't want anything to go against me because of the circustances for which I am dealing with. Please

TryInToCope

Today was so average
seems I try hard to help
but it's seen as control
sometimes it's hard to cope.

Today I will escape it all
drawing upon the richness of my mind
creating and living a fantasy
if only for a few moments!

Just a dream, an escape
away from reality, it is
allowing me to cope
with this life I have chosen!

I sat here with a smile upon my face
my mind a million miles away,
maybe I'm chasing the perfect cloud
or quietly sitting, watching nature burst forth.

I'm just tryintocope, as best as I can
my mind needs a break from life now and then,
I love my life, don't take it wrong
but getting away, just makes me strong....er!

Hello dear~
I was saddened to read of your cat...
I rased two for eighteen years until they were taken by cancer; The "crabs" in the following poem refer to two different forms of cancer that took 'Woof'~
Wishing you strength, here is

Dance of Days

Sarabande had two left feet
But then, she had two right
And dance?! Her pirouettes
Were known to set dry leaves alight.

She danced away the morning
With a coterie of cats
Then waltzed the windblown willow wisps
With leaps just short of flight.

Sara saved her afternoons
For do-se-dos with game raccoons
For leaping-frog with trusting toads
And frolicking with leery loons

Cakewalking in the pale moonlight
Two crusty crabs embraced her tight
When, as in life, forevermore
She danced into the starry night.
