  • VioletTears : Hey there! on January 13
It's been forever!!! How have you been?? I'm at Temple University now, doing Music Education. I'm never on here any more but I still write, I just never post on here any more. I went to the most amazing Christian music camp this summer that changed my life. How's college? Are you still playing flute?
  • BeautifullyBroken42 on August 31, 2007
hi! I saw your a Christian looking for a life that serves God. So am i! I have been trying to find a Christian for months and your the first one. I thought i was alone. anyway i'm off.
  • VioletTears : I miss you! on August 2, 2007
Heyy! We haven't talked in a very very long time. And we should! How has your summer going? I haven't gotten out very much for anything other than music. The 18th of this month I get to play for a wedding. And my dad's playing guitar with me for one of the songs. Pretty much...I'm excited. :-D I can't believe I'll be a senior very very soon. Whoa. I don't know what I'm gunna do with myself. I'm just praying that I can serve as a good example to other people, especially those youngins. :-P
Hope to hear from you soon!

This new layout is so confuzzling!!!!

    but...

    I MADE ALL EASTERN BAND!!!
Which is like out of the whole eastern coast I was one of the chosen people to go to Conneticut in march to play with the best of the best of the best on the eastern coast!!!! I cannot believe it!!
    :-D I'm so incredibly happy!

And also, in Music Lit we just got done learning about Bach ...but Telemann only had one sentence which made me mad.

Hey!! I haven't been writing at all infact. I plan I starting up again, and I've got some thoughts floating around up there. I really miss being on here. I've got lots of Julious Caeser stuff going on, trying to just barely pass geometry, and I've got Youth Symphony auditions in exactly one week. Yesterday was prom and it was a lot of fun! So right now I'm practically exhausted and trying to check all of the emails that have piled up...

Hey guess what? I'm going to All State Orchestra on Piccolo! It's Pinky's chance to shine!! I qualified for All State Band on Pinky but you can only go to one All State ensemble. I'm soooo excited! I hoped I get housed with nice flute players. I accually got 2nd at both band and Orchestra but our region takes a piccolo to all states this year (next year it takes an Eb clarinet instead and they switch every other year). The girl who got 1st at regional orchestra was a real JERK! And she had this awful tone and she played with NO musicianship and totally BUTCHERED the flute candenza in one of the songs. She was a sophomore too. But the girl who got 1st on 2nd flute at regionals was super nice!! SHe was a junior and she was really hard working and totally deservered it. She had a callouse on her left hand from practicing so much! But she was a lot of fun. But the girl at orchestra was such a jerk. I just hope I don't have to sit by her! Ug she ruined regional orchestra for me! BUt band was a lot of fun. ANd I met this guy who plays trombone and he's HILARIOUS!!! And I hope her calls tonight..'cause I really like him lol.
How's Talie and Johann? Have they gotten any good gigs lately? lol. Alrighty talk to you soon!
    Love and God Bless-Jo Ann

Hey! I haven't heard from you in awhile! I don't know if you ever got the message, but I made district choir! I'm 18th place (out of a total 20) and I was sick! Two days before my throat was raw. Also, Suday was Pre-Auditions for district band. And I am ***SSSSOOOOO*** excited!!!! I tied for 2nd place!!!! Let me tell you, going into this, I was thinking I would really want to sit first chair. (The Audition piece was Mozart's Concerto in G major, first movement, no cadenza). I walked into our holding room, and there were all of these AMAZING flute players. My director was all like "there's no such thing as perfect" Oh no, there is perfect- it resides in the flute holding room!!! You don't play something unless it is fast and flawless!!! The Mozart movement technically shouldn't go any faster than 120 (Allegro Maestoso) and I think that's kinda pushing it a little. One girl (who tied for first) was playing it at 150...perfect perfect perfectly. Another girl played it the say exact way I did. (Her name is Mallory, and she's a senior who's gone to All State band for the past two years. I ended up beating her by one point!!) Another girl, who I think I tied with (she's in 11 grade) had this really fast vibrato, and again, flawless! I was seriously doubting myself. I stood outside the audition room and I was like "Dear Lord, I cna't do this without you." My audition was not flawless. I messed up on the second part asked, but I recovered. In the second room for sightreading and scales, my scales were good and I played them with as much open tone as I could. I though I killed the sightreading (it was in A major and went from 4/4 to 6/8 and...it was ugly.) My director collected score sheets and put them in the computers. She gave us the unoficial results that night and she had tears in her eyes and told me she was proud of me and that I should be proud of myself because the judges said this was the most competition and the best flute section that they had have heard (one's been on the judging committee for 30 years!) So I don't know if I get to go to orchestra (1st and 2nd chairs get to go, but there's four of us due to the ties. the max they can take is four. It depends on the music.) I won't know until the end of the week. I will confess that I am so happy and proud of myself because I didn't think I had it in me, but the praise all goes to God. I gotta give it up to Him! I'm only the instrument He works through. Give me an internet kick if I start to get concieted.

You probably have a headache now. Sorry for writing so much. :-P
    Love and God Bless-
    Jo Ann

  • VioletTears on July 10, 2005
Alright. Phew!!! I have been so busy. Usually I just pop on to see if I have any messages, but I haven't been able to respond!! We went to Lake Erie the 4th, 5th, and 6th. From the 14th until the 24th I'll be in Wells Beach, Maine.
I got our band cd. I'll have to email you my solo and the duets with my friend Liz...she's graduated now, and I miss her!! She got first place at a competition in Florida. She had a Kidney infection and a fever of 102!! She heard thunder right before her audition and assumed that it was God telling her "Go Go Go!!" lol. She could only stand for the 10 minutes in the audition room she was so dizzy! That just goes to show that while we might think we can do things on our own, we can't do it without Christ!!
We did the 4th of July parade and that was pretty fun.
I have to practice for "festival season" *sigh* it's comming!!!
Florida was a BLAST! By the end of the week my room wanted to kill each other. We performed in the Spectro Magic Parade...we got to LEAD the parade!!!! It was so empowering!! We were all so proud. I have a bunch of pictures, so maybe if our scanner will work I can show you some of the stuff. We were in Disney and Universal. Disney was a lot more fun. You feel like a little kid again. It's so magical!! He he. I'll try to accually get to talk to you. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, I'm just super full of stuff to do. I'm reading a lot, and Bobette craves more attention, and so does my piano...and I should practice my tenor but I don't lol. I have to audition on that too.
How's Talie doing? How's Finney and Francine and the cute puppiness? And how's Brent? Oh, yea...What's up with yea now a days? Anything neat for vacation?
Alright, thanks for the comments, I'll have to check out your poetry! God Bless!
  • VioletTears on May 31, 2005
HEY! Tonight is my concert! Oh my word! I have a solo!!! Scherzando (pronounced skirt-ZAN-do....tee hee) By Telemann!!! My friend Liz over worked her wrist so she can't accompany me, but her sister is, so it's all good. Oh my word!!! We're playing Phantom of the Opera, with both Junior and Senior high combined. I'm doing flute duets with my friend Liz. It's one super long song, like five pages. lol. My director wanted all of it. AND GUESS WHAT!!!! My flute teacher might be comming!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!! She said she was very happy that I invited her. YAY. Friday is the jazz band concert, and I get to play flute in one of the songs!! It's also my directors birthday, so today, my friend Morgan and I are going down to the local Price Chopper, and our friend Jeremiah is driving us. We're thinking of getting her her annual thong but we're not sure. he he!!! I had a huge English test that is worth 3/4 of our grade and I think I did really well!!! Oh my goodness I cannot wait for tonight though. I'm a combination of nerves and excitment. I finally want to be able to show all of those people who said I couldn't play flute and wouldn't, how far I have for in three years! I think I told you we're getting a recording, so I'll have to send you a copy of the cd. Alright that's all I have for now. I'll talk to you later, or on IM.

    God Bless!!

HEY!! I got your message! I haven't been on VioletTears in awhile, and I'm glad I got on when I did! Muchos good luck on thursday if I don't get to talk to you. You'll be awesome!!! Don't fret! I had my chorus concert last thursday and I had a solo and I was sooooo nervous. And When I got up there my voice surpirsed me!! It was so great! I've never sang so well so nervous. I was running down the hall to my band director and I was like I DID IT!!!!!!! OMG!!! I DID IT I DID IT!! AAAHHHH!!. he he. Our concert isn't until the 31st. But...I'm getting nervous myself. I get nervous when I play piccolo, but I only play pic in advanced band for (currently) one song. Possibly two. Pinky doesn't get much use. You'll be wonderful! Our band concert is being prfessionally recorded (even though we're not very good...he he. Nothing really complicated) I'm buying one and I'll have to incorperate the music into my computer to send to you!!! I am excited for you and I will keep on praying!! I'll try to get on yahoo some time soon to tell about all of the other great...and some not so great...things. But for the most part things are looking up!!

My lab, Natta is 13 and she's still pretty spunky, and I try not to think about such things as her on her way out. She is so loyal and loving. But it's so exciting to get a new puppy! I love it when my mom watches dogs. Don't worry. Your not replacing her, just making an addition! Because Annie will ALWAYS hold a special place in your heart. and "Lucy" will leave her own legacy.

Alright...I think I'm done...probably not, but oh well. lol.
Love, God Bless!! I'll be praying for you!

OMG!!! You put "Voice of Truth" on your name!! Oh My Word!!!! I looooovvvvveee that song. The ENglish teacher I have right now has it. But that CD gets me through so many hard times. So right now I'm reallllly missing it. "American Dream" reminds me of my band director "all work no play may have made jack a dull boy. All work no God has left Jack with a lost soul...Cause (s)he works and (s)he builds with his (her) own two hands and(s)he poured all (s)he has in a castle made with sand, but the wind and the rain are comin' crashing in. Time will tell just how long (her) his kingdom stands!!"
It's really about a guy, but I made my adjustment. Casting Crowns it awesome!!!

I got this Book called "Under God" and it's about how Religion fits into our society today and how this nation was founded on Biblical principles. It's by dc Talk's Toby Mac and Michael Tait. I went to go see Casting Crowns and Steven Curtis Chapman in concert and I got a Casting Crowns T-shirt that says (front) American Dream-Casting Crowns (back) If You Lose Your Soul What Have You Gained In The End?

And Pinky is of course part of my birthday present.
  • VioletTears on February 23, 2005

  • VioletTears on January 22, 2005
YAY!!! applauds author page!!! I love it! I LOOVVE your quotes!! like.../yours/. lol District orchestra was today. And now my friend Johanna is mad at...well...herself, me, and like-the world. She placed last on French Horn and is practicing for Regional BAND (not orchestra b/c they're tow different bands) because she never wants to place last again. My friend Liz on flute also placed last. She's a senior and Johanna is a sophmore. I think I told you about my book...how to play a piccolo in ten days or less. Well, they didn't audtition on piccolo...but if you placed 1st you had the option of playing flute. Well the girl who got first didn't want to, so Liz HAD to play piccolo. I felt TERRIBLE for her. oh well. I'm still cheery, see----> Well, someone's gotta be with everyone all mopey here. geez, oh geesh.

Awww, at least gym doesn't matter! Right? Whoever heard of a non-evil gym teacher? How could someone that wasn't evil teach gym! Lol. My gym teacher from last year just got a DUI *ahem* that was ackward, lol.

Band playing test happened today. :-S I dunno if I did well or not. She made me play my piccolo for part of it BUT after I finished she goes "Gooood. You sound GREAT on that little thing!" And I almost fainted. A sincere compliment from my band teacher is amazing. But I'm still pretty sure I won't be first chair anymore, o well.

K, it's time for my bed. See ya later and God bless!

  • VioletTears on January 20, 2005
I missed the bus. I'm really upset!!! WAAAA!!! Now I have to make up THREE gyms and the teacher is evil because everytime I go to make one up she goes "NO!" It's like it's either a two hour delay and she's like NO! And I go, well I could walk the halls. Still no. So now I'm gunna fail gym too.

And then because of my dad's fetish with ebay I have a back up flute too. it's an open holed. It was $100 so you can't go wrong at that price. If you like, lived next dorr to me I'd share it with you. reaches out hand I have ROTK but it's not extended I saw that James Galway CD and I wanted it!!! Maybe if I get a Barnes and Nobles card for my birthday from my aunt I can get it. My birfday is feb 24 so not too far away...I wait. lol You got some awesome stuff. Sounds like a great christmas for you!

I gotta go shower now...My mum is taking me to see Lemony Snickets A Seris of Unfortunate Events.

Hey! I miss u! I can't get on at my house until my whole ordeal is done. I'm at my friends' house. I miss you! I'm trying to rebuild everything. I'm hurt.

The flute recital went really well. I wish you could've been here. In case I don't get the chance- Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I wish I could like send you something in the mail for Christmas, but I'm afraid I've spent all of my money and I don't think my parents would like me spending to someone in another time zone let alone another state. lol.

Much Love my favorite (and only ) sister.

*calms down* Yay! More flute and piccolo friends. I found one on ebay for 203 with three days left. The silver body and everything. By yamaha. Yay. I'm glad you got your piccolo. I know how you feel about never wanting to let it go. When I was in 6th grade my flute broke...then the repair people lost it...then...FINALLY!...a quarter of the way through 7th grade I got it back and I like slept with it that night. recently I was listening to a flute cd, lying on the floor with my flute next to me, and I feel asleep. It's always good sleeping when Bobette is near. I found a band geek. But I forgot their name. *blushes*
Hope to hear from you soon my SISTER!!!!

    I'VE FOUND ANOTHER PICCOLOIST!!!!!!

Sorry... I just got one... a week ago today, and it's so beautiful, and so high pitched and so annoyingly loud in my right ear. But it's so cute! and so great! and I'm in love with it... Okay, maybe I'm a little protective over it.. well... a lot..... Ie. when I take it to school I have to have it touching me somewhere are all times... if just my feet.... but yes. I've been playing flute for..... 6-7 years now.. and piccolo since last wednesday I haven't yet written a poem about it... I'd love to though.... *sighs* Hmm... perhaps I should go work on one. In fact, that's exactly what I'll do!
Sorry for just randomly taking up your space... I just haven't found another piccoloist on this site yet... or in fact in my school so...... YAY!
