  • waydownuponjoy : I often wonder ... on September 16
what made you go? I stopped in today to see if you were back and Yes!, indeed you had looked in yesterday! It's awful to be addicted to this site and yet ... we can't help ourselves can we? jy
  • Image and Visions on August 21
Just wanted to say hey, Hey.
  • Pattiboo : re my poem Memories of me mum on July 25
Thank you for your very welcome critique of my poem. You are right punctuation is something I don't seem able to get a grasp on, either not enough or too much. Starting each line with a capital? I find it very hard not to because most of the poetry I read is written that way and I have always done the same. No excuses I know but old habits die hard. Thank you again for your help I will try harder with both. Pat
  • albymyheart on July 14
I see you have done a snagglepuss, just before I discovered you. I read some of your comments (as there are no poems to read) and you seem to be someone I would have liked to comment on me. I hope you change your mind and return...Alby
  • malmadre on July 11
    Earth to Jim ... come in . . . . .
  • Sudo Nimh on July 9
it's like walking a long way to a friend's house without calling first..only to find them not at home..where you had expected perhaps a rhyme and a bite of cheese..sorry to have missed you..perhaps next time..
  • I learned a lot from you and miss your work. Hope you are writing again soon.
  • paperparadox on June 9

  • wbiro : Glued Here... on June 9
poems I've written here stay here- I think in some way they're a part of this place; I've noticed that I write differently elsewhere, and it just doesn't feel right to move or mix them...
  • Seasinger on June 8
    Jim, oh Jim! What's happened?!
"Are you going away with no word of farewell? Will there be not a trace left behind...?"
Have only been with AP for about 2 months. Really loved your poetry in that time. Shouldn't have assumed there'd be ample time to look at some of your earlier work. You seemed so well established here, it never occurred to me that you might suddenly fold your tent like the Arabs and silently steal away.
Maybe you have taken it all to get it published. Please come back soon, or tell us when the book comes out.
  • Amera on June 6
Please don't go all together! Post a poem so they don't remove your account. We all go through down times in our writing. You are a born poet and poetry will always be in your blood and I like many here on AP will miss you.
  • paperparadox : Oh no!!! on June 6
Jim...wherfore art thou, oh revered Rhapsode of the Rhyme, Purveyor of the Pun, and Fiduciary to the Funny Bone!?!

You have weighed anchor and departed for distant E-shores...?

That is indeed a tragic event...be assured you will be sorely missed and mourned...

I will hold those generous points until your return, but thank you in the interim...

    Come back soon, Jim...
  • ecrivain01 : I've thought of leaving myself ... on June 6
on several occasions, but decided against it. I hope you change you mind. You can undelete the poems for a period of a few weeks, I think.
  • Melodies on June 5
OH! Your fabulous poems! I am going nuts here. Please come back...
  • Tte : 462 poems, I've got alot reading to do on April 28
Thank you for allowing me to post you as a favourite. I thought it best to ask first, so again thank you.
  • moonbumps on February 23
    What is the blue trophy?????
  • Mairi bheag on January 17
"the Grand Poobah of Rhyme". Y'know, I couldn't have put it better myself!
  • paperparadox : Oh boy oh boy oh boy! on December 26, 2008
Just stopped by your page to grab your link (trying to re-educate a dork on Storywrite.com who trashed rhyming poetry and wanted to point her in the direction of the Grand Poobah of Rhyme)...and what do I find? You must be a suffer of OCD! Ah...so now we know why you are so adept at achieving the perfect meter and rhyme...

The cat is out of the bag, kiddo!

Very neat. Very tidy. Very ORGANISED!!!

    Very nice.
  • Topnotchsy on December 21, 2008
Hey, I haven't gotten around here much recently but noticed that you sent me a present for the holidays. I appreciate the points, and even more so, the gesture. Happy holidays to you as well!!
  • Melodies : OH MY GOODNESS! You have organized! on November 30, 2008
Is this what you were doing while you were home with a bad cold? How inspiring! WOW! I hope you are better now and can go back to being messy like me.
  • Corey Harvard on November 26, 2008
I remember you, earthtojim. You used to have that hilarious piece on your page about free-verse poetry. Did you write that poem?
  • ecrivain01 : Happy Thanksgiving. on November 23, 2008
Got an odd message from a friend in Holland today. She thinks you are my "alter ego", and that I have two identities here. I don't know if I will recover from that soon enough to enjoy Thanksgiving.
  • wbiro on November 15, 2008
ooooo... I see you're trying to classify your works- but keep in mind that we are usually poor judges of our own works- and I'm one, so I've given up on creating a 'best of' list... if we were only lucky enough to have such a critic (who we don't have to pay!)
  • poetryality on November 5, 2008
What happened to the poem you had featured? Did you delete it? Why?

  • Rachel Kruger on October 16, 2008
Thank you for your wonderful contributions to this site. It's a pleasure to indulge in you poetic writings, colorfull with tongue-in-the-cheek humor. You never fail to disappoint me - you are the best when it comes to rhythm and rhyme! My greatest day on AP was the day when I stumbled into one of your poems. From then onwards I feel like I've lost something if I don't take a glance every now and then to see what's new. Your work is excellent entertainment!

Anyways, great to see you keeping up appearances and I will be back again soon to read through your older entries.

    All the best,
    Love you lots,
    Rachel.
  • Topnotchsy on October 13, 2008
Hey, I'm thrilled I came across your poetry. I can honestly say that there have only been a handful of poets that I've truly enjoyed reading on this site, and I've really enjoyed your poems. I've only favorited a total of four people in the time I have been on the site, but I look forward to reading more of your poems. I'm going to have to check out "Woody's Trial" a different time as I have to hit the sack (already stayed up too late reading ) but I hope to get to it (and would appreciate a reminder if I don't as it would be my pleasure to read through.) Thanks for sharing your humor, and writing ability!!
  • Abby Eyeball on July 27, 2008
wow, you have like a lot of trophies.

  • Gypsie Ink : Happy Earth Day! on April 22, 2008
To all things that grow (smile) May they be nurtured properly.
  • wbiro on April 5, 2008
anapestic tetrameter? Sounds like a challenge... but some of us could only hold it for a stanza or two before exploding in creativity... I might try it, I have an hour, though I'm dead tired...
  • Sprite on March 31, 2008
My Quirky contest will return in a couple of weeks so please look for it on my site! I don't want to miss anyone. Thank you for your interest!

Upon a realm of glistening dew
I send this St. Valentine to you

are those your pictures on photobones? Interesting site. No explanation, just interpretation. A girl like me could get herself into a heap of trouble.

    Nice Indeed.

P.S. I joined this site when the guestbook was used for any kind of commenting and i haven't felt the need to assimilate to the new culture. Feel free to delete this.
  • HammeR on January 28, 2008
Although I do not visit regularly I always have to come back to read the notice to poets. To me that write is one that is timeless and everlasting. I appreciate you sharing it with me once again
    Take care.
  • galfalfa : thank you on December 19, 2007
Thank you for the generous gift...having lost my sister recently after emergency surgery and this oncoming Christmas being somewhat hard to get through, your kind gesture brought a most welcomed heart smile.
Although I spend most of my time on deviant, i do peek in here from time to time- i'm a tad surprised, people dont usually give gifts to those they dont like and have on ignore...so i thank you for that and wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy healthy 2008

  • speakno3vil on November 16, 2007

  • sca on November 9, 2007
I really like this "Freedoms Will Have To Be Surrendered" business. Or well, the poem itself at least.

  • Touchof1der on October 1, 2007
Don't mind me. I just grabbed the spare key from under the mat and let myself in this evening. And I even brought my own brew from Starbucks so NOBODY has to fuss over dishes.

And you thought you were shut of me, didn't you? I told you I would return.
  • Touchof1der on September 30, 2007
If I'm going to try to impress you with my words and enter your contest, I decided I should spend some time on your page and let you fill me with inspiration until it's bursting at the seams.

Put the coffee on... this could take a while.

OOps, excuse me, were you sitting here first? I'm sorry. I'll just find a spot on the floor.

Uhhh... one more thing, do you mind if I take my shoes off and get comfortable?

And could I have some cookies with that coffee?
  • theburninglegend : hahaha on July 28, 2007

Your opening statement from the Bureau is Hi-larious. Reminds me of Monty Python's Flying Circus for some reason. What a hoot! Thanks for letting us know about this. I would hate to get in trouble. Because we all know that ignorance of the law is no excuse.

  • Orual : I think I just broke something... on February 10, 2007
...laughing at "Freedoms Will Have To Be Surrendered." I'm not quite that opposed to freeverse, but I do sympathize. And I didn't know that "catalectic" was the term for a meterically incomplete line. Thank you for enlightening me.
