Sometimes my Hellos get buried with you so I'll do this. And if you were just ignoring me
too bad.

Dearest One
How wonderful to share your contemplative moments and intimacies shared with God! There are many truths to be found within your words of wisdom.
I love to say: we are just heavenly enough, to know that we are still on this earth. Life is only a preparation and a test for the Everlife -- and without God's grace we will never make it. But the opposite is also true: BY the grace of God, we are empowered to do ANYTHING in His Name.
It is important to scan our treacherous hearts moment by moment. But it is also important to live to the fullest, to the glorification of his Name.
Thank you for reading my work.
Myra

To answer you question, i live in Winter Park, a suburb of Orlando, Florida. Earlier this year I was on the Orlando slam team at Nationals in Alburquerque. As for "finding your flow," I think your work is exceptional, and wouldn't be so quick to give up. The two biggest things a poet/performer can do to enhance their performance is memorize their work to the point that reciting a poem is less of a chore and more of a reflex, and to understand how to project their voice loud enough with the power of their chest. Too much throat-work, can obviously cause pain. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss onstage performance with writing as air-tight as your own. Don't let past experiences get in the way of exposign your art. In the meantime, while you're on this site, please feel free to read some/any/all of my own stuff and tell me what you think. (Contrary to what my opening page implies, I have posted more than just haiku during my time as an allpoetry member).-Curtis Meyer

God is older than the sun and moon
and the eye cannot behold him
nor voice describe him.
But a naked man, a stranger, leaned on the gate
with his cloak over his arm, waiting to be asked in.
So, I called him: Come in, if you will!
He came in slowly, and sat down by the hearth.
I said to him: And what is your name?
He looked at me without answer, but such a loveliness
entered me, I smiled to myself, saying: He is God!
So he said: Hermes!
God is older than the sun and moon
and the eye cannot behold him
nor the voice describe him:
and still, this is the God Hermes, sitting by my hearth.
