Anyhow, I am the QUEEN of unfinished stories! I'm also very bad about working on more than one story at the same time

You said this, and I'm pretty sure I was the queen of unfinished stories! I have thirty on my comp and another million in notebooks. I also have the same problem of working on more than one at a time. Right now, I'm working on 3! I guess I'm just a crazy weird person. O well.
Your one story was awesome, and you can expect more comments from me in the future!

    Hi, Angel

No need to feel sorry. I am not so prompt either in posting replies. You should check this fact with a friend of mine. He has to send me five e-mails in succession to make me stir out of my slumber and post a reply. I am anticipating a transfer from this place. I have been here for fifteen months and I love this place, my house, my garden... How possessive I am! But, in my job, one should learn to be philosophical- No way, you can get attached to a place, people etc. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Let's see what future has to offer. Four days from now, we would be celebrating Deepavali- A festival where people decorate their houses with lamps and burst crackers to celebrate the death of a demon at the hands of God Krishna. I remember how eagerly I used to wait for the festival in my childhood. I also remember hiding under a cot, scared by the sound and fury all around.( I was only six then). Even now, I enjoy watching others and need to be coaxed to go any where near crackers.
Things are fine here. This place is known as sun city by locals. It is warm and warmer, with an apology of rainy season thrown in between.
    Love

    Hey again, my dear.

You read "In My Skin"...that's a pretty popular poem so far, but not nearly as much as "Smile Empty Heart" (which I wasn't expecting ANY responses to. lol). But, yes it is difficult to see yourself as being 'attractive' when you have more weight when you want, and it seems all the guys are only into skinny girls. I read in health books that Caucasian women seem to suffer the worst, and African American women (like me) are usually raised in environments where they are accepted more often and so are more confident, even if they are carrying extra baggage. Not so for me, lol...I have no self esteem whatsoever and very little confidence, I guess that's from being an only child with no 'accepting' friends or always being called ugly. Or both. *shrug* It's an ongoing process, and believe me it is nowhere near over...I am thinking about liposuction, since diet and exercise just do not work well for me. Well, that's it on this note...take care, and I hope you feel better.

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

you are an awsome poet...reading your poems just filled me up with comfort knowing that someone else out there knows exactly what it is like...knowing that someone else out there is going through the same things as me...thank you for sharing your poems...they were really worth reading...keep on writing

hey ur the coolest youve been the best to me ever since ive been here youve been nice
  • iloveme on September 22, 2003
I was actually hoping you could give me a suggestion of which of your peices to read that you would really like commented on. Tell me when you think of one. You place a lot of directed love in the pieces I have read. I'd like to read a poem that is of your inner love for yourself or something that has more of a first person take on a situation. Go ahead and IM me a suggestion.

    Dear Angel
Nice to hear from you and thanks for your comment on my poem, “Caged bird”.
I came back from a day’s trip to Bangalore and I am off again for two days from Tuesday. Life is pretty much on even keel- nothing exciting or remarkable has taken place. Time is flying fast and sometimes, I am seized by a paranoia that nothing much has been done, both on professional and personal fronts. But, at night, when I hear the flapping of wings of bats in my garden or spy a cricket chirping its merry song in my living room, I am filled with contentment. In a big city, I would have missed these sounds.
I am passable so far as Economics and Accounting matters are concerned. I do not take more interest than is required by my job, in these matters. Business management could be drudgery at times. Hope you are able to enjoy your classes. (If you are not, I do not blame you). Take care and keep in touch.
    Love,
    Krishna

Aw, hell yes! I love "Imaginary"! THAT SONG KICKS ASS! I hear that Amy (Lee) keeps a lyric journal...I wanted to see it since it's on the Evanescence website, but this stupid computer acted all ig'nant (you know I had to ghettofy 'ignorant' that time!) with me.... grrr I hate these connections! I can't wait to get my own damn internet access! I think I'm going to get a new computer, too, because mine is five years old and I need to trade that sucker in anyway! lol... okay, enough ranting...

I haven't written anything 'new' in forever, but this is so cool that you FINALLY posted a new one! I am going to read it immediately... I haven't been feeling so well lately. If you ever need a definition for 'spiritual bondage' dial me up... I adore you, precious little one. I hope you are feeling okay. I do not mean to come here and burden you with my problems.

Speaking of "Imaginary". I wrote a poem based on that song, it's somewhere on the third or maybe fourth page of what I posted...called "Imaginary Refuge". You'll see some of the same elements, although the visuals are different. Check it out whenever you get the chance.

I better go before I get depressed again....

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

    Hi, Angel
How have you been? It is difficult to get back to studies after a vacation. I go through Monday blues, every week. Do write to me about your school.
Last week, I went home for three days.(Home is 200 K.M s away). It was a short but reposeful visit. If I am here, I keep thinking about work. Yesterday, I bought some rose plants for my garden. Now, I have a pretty collection of roses of different hues. I am eagerly waiting for them to bloom.
What you wrote about crop rotation is very pertinent. It is good for the soil- gives it time to recuperate. But, in irrigated areas here, people cultivate a single crop, mostly Paddy. That is not good for the soil. Yet, year after year, farmers persist with this practice. They are after quick returns. I have seen some soils turn alkaline and become unfit for cultivation.
So much for today. Au revoir.
    Love

I am the songs of a passing age,
Read your comment on my page.
Knew that here was one whose eyes,
See the wisdom of the wise.
I wish this rose were real my dear,
In that I find an angel here.
May your life be a shout of joy,
In every word you do employ.
    Sing beloved, feel, belong,
And touch the people with your song.
For sorrows come, and grief is great,
And many fall beneath the weight.
Thinking no pain greater than their own,
Tell them they dont walk alone. (have an excellant life and career and inspiration darlin. thank you for the note on s.o.s. I LOVE the language and the subtle beauty of the whole bible but Solomon was THE love poet.

    Hello, Angel
Anthropology seems such an interesting career choice. My subject was chemistry, though my present job has nothing to do with it. I am in government service (the much hated bureaucrat!!!) I get opportunity to meet people of diverse types. I enjoy meeting people and talking to them, especially if they happen to be from the villages. The groups that I hate to interact but need to do are the politicians. Politics, I am more than convinced, is the last refuge of a scoundrel. More about tribes: I spent few days in Nagaland, which is in the north-eastern part of India. Nagaland has many tribes. Each tribe can be distinguished by the colour and pattern of the shawl, they wear. In some tribes, men and women wear different type of shawls. Nagas practise shifting cultivation, known as Jhooming. They do not cultivate the same patch of land, every season. A good agricultural practice that gives time to the Earth to recoup the soil nutrients. As technically, the land belongs to the tribe, this practice does not pose any problems. The elders sort out disputes, if any. But, the traditional lifestyles are getting affected by the onslaught of modern (civilized??) practices. I am eager to hear from you.
    Love
