Gina, I just spent the evening looking at the photos from your trip to Italy and Zurich. Whew! They are so beautiful and timeless. Your eye for art is amazing. It's as close to Italy as I will probably ever come.
I looked at the mixture of old and new, lost myself in the textures and colors, the timeless feel of the aura in that country. I read your 'blogs' and my mouth watered at your descriptions of the food.
All in all, it much have been one fantabulous trip.
The pictures of Roger are adoreable too. The peacocks don't seem daunted at his presence one whit!
Have missed you, Girl, and am not at all surprised at your poetry being published. Congratulations! It deserves to be shared with the world. ~ Karen

Dr Jekyll : Cinquain poetry on October 8, 2007
Cinquain poetry can be brought to life by using tanka techniques in it, it gives it more depth than just fitting words into a syllabic structure.

-
Congratulations on your publications in Moonset, it is wonderful news, and the be a featured tanka writer must be thrilling.
I'm very pleased your getting noticed.

All is well in wonderland, I just haven't been able to string words together for ages, and I've been busying myself re-doing the site I once had.. which has taken up most of my time -- not to mention focus..
Hope you're doing grandly and that winter isn't too much of an old man..

cafegroundzero : Emerald One Three, Thirteen, Ten and Three, She on April 14, 2007
She is great because she persists and insists on living. She is great because she will take the cake and walk the walk.
She is great because she wills to be great.
She is great because she is not afraid of any number or shape or colour.
She is great because she is life.
She loves language, she loves life.

I agree, your art work is quite wonderful... there is a gentle beauty to it...

Your art work is amazing.
I absolutely adore the frog and water lily piece. It makes me gaspy.
You are a talented lady. Did you make the collage for the opening of the 10 days on the Island thing?

Oh, and Milosz is Polish-born. I recommend the "Luminous" anthology. I just wrote my 50th poem off that book, which I bought just a month ago. I use the word "poem" loosely, of course, but hey.... at least a few of them are worth polishing up. That says a lot for the anthology.

That's right - Tasmania! Oh man it would be depressing to be in Autumn now...but then, winter has not really left.
Spring here is rainy, with occasional clear days, frosty mornings. But the days are getting longer, and the cherry blossoms have begun.
Lisa and I both loved your poem for its clarity and its imagery. I was delighted to find out it was yours.
Thanks for dropping by, darlin.
