i have to tell you rous, ive gotten in so many fights wtih ppl on this site for one reason or another. it must have been a long time ago you and me got in an arguement. i admire you for coming forward with your poem. i didn't find it malicious, i found it honest and respectful. my hats off to you.
-
You are welcome. Your name popped up on the front page and so I checked it out. It is amazing what you may miss by not being a little nosy.
-
Thank you for stopping by.

-
you sound like a great poet and i read but never commented on your stuff but they are AMAZING!
-
LOL never mind, I guess I knew it all along
-
I can't for the life of me (lol) remember the dang emote for it but if I could I would give you a big
-
You are entirely welcome. I would hope that a gentle admonition would be much more helpful than a ranting one. And I understand the spilling part. Some of mine need major overhauls before I can post them. And sometimes, the emotion just warrants letting it lie, to speak its own message. I would hope to always be able to tell the difference. And I am very happy to put you on my page as a part of helping in my growth. I think that is a wish for most people, to know they have made a positive difference in someone's life. God bless and continue to help me.
-
My dear friend Rous, your words quietly shared on my poetry are always welcome good, bad or otherwise. I am grateful for the tact you use when suggesting a grammar or punctuation change etc... Most of my work is literally the spilling of an emotion as it is dispensed so not always is it grammatically correct or even poectically so *chuckle. In any event, I came to your page today after not having been here for a while and see that you have listed me as one of the folks that has inspired or touched you in some capacity... for that I'm grateful. I am honored to be among the people that has touched another, it is truly a gift to be held in someone's heart. Thank you Rous, for making my day

I agree, arguements seem to come full circle, as do most things. The key is whether their is anything of value once someone stands their ground "bearing their chips", shall we say.
I have been lucky enough to run across someone such as yourself, as you reminded me, that others beliefs are of their own, at times. And not always a processed pretty packaged, infomercial lip service, talking head. I do apologize if I came off in any malcontentious way. I thank you for your articulate points of view, and I see you've taken the time to see with whom you were dealing with~shows depth as well. And your comments upon my poems were very gracious indeed. Have a great day, young friend...
Now about Tolkien not being a writer!!!...just kidding... :] Edited on May 12, 4:33 p.m. because 'typo'.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here. First off, thank you for the young lady comment. And I do not use the term aggressively. I only apply it towards those who seem to be in a rut with their arguments. You do not argue, so therefore, you cannot be pedantic. It is not used exclusively for relgious arguments, it is anyone who argues in circles. I just do not like the haranguing that seems to end up in most of the comments. State your views and let it go. I usually back out of things when they get to the point of circling. I am just not interested in the fighting. I do welcome others' views and comments, but not the ones that attack and start with the namecalling. Been there too much lately. Again, thank you for you comments.
-
so this "conversation" would be perhaps coined as "pedantic symantics 101".
No young lady, the last thing I would ever do is to convert somebody to believe in something that makes their world go round. Whatever it is that makes my world go round works for me and me alone. I merely read your page here and found something I that interested me in a form of a question. And yes pedantic caught my eye, as a word I did not know (thanks for that). However the use of the word as an aggressive term, if mirrored works the same for me toward you. In actuallity, though, it would fit most people of any faith, or non faith. As T.S. once wrote. "boom goes the white man, boom goes the black man, boom goes the cattle-rattle bing!"

Sorry, but no. Chrisianity is the belief in a supreme being who created everything that is. Fantasy is an enjoyment of whimsical things. I enjoy reading about faeries and life in outer space and dragons. I do not believe they exist. They are man made. I believe in God and that man is God made. I am pleased with your respect for my beliefs, and I respect your right to believe the way you choose. Thank you for reading. I am not interested in converting anyone who does not wish it, that is their choice. And you cannot convert me, so, that being said, thank you for the comment. As an afterthought, no one is lowly. Everyone has worth and merit. My opinion and beliefs notwithstanding, yours are due the respect given others. Never consider yourself lowly. You are created in the image of God, and that is never lowly. Edited on May 12, 11:25 because ''.
-
I respect all on which you say on your page here, but isnt christianity and fantasy the same thing- a lowly pedantic
-
I am a stanch Christian. And no, I have no problem with the fantasy. I am mature enough to separate fact from fiction.
Aye! You would enjoy Lewis' feelings on fantasy. You should read "The Great Divorce" (a wonderful fantasy/symbolistic write by him) or "'Til we have Faces" (explores his thoughts on fantasy).
-
I thank you kindly for your remarks. And the opening paragraph is a direct result of being reamed royally for clicking on a featured poem and not leaving a comment. And no, it was not masterblaster. It was two other poets whom I told both of them I will not be reading any more of their efforts. Which is really a shame because one of them was a favorite, and the other has some pretty good stuff on her page. But, that is what happens when you leap before you look. I have learned, through bitter experience, to check things out before I will say something. And I try to withdraw when I see things getting out of hand. I am a pacifist at heart. As for the name, yeah, I know what it stands for, but it is acually a bastardization of my real name. My nephew could not say it, so Rous is the way it came out. It just stuck. (I actually had to rent the movie because I did not remember that from the book or the movie. And it is really such a small bit.) LOL
-
Btw, you DO know what R.O.U.S. stands for, right? lol

If your poetry is even a quarter as well written as your author page, you deserve SO many more trophies than you have! So that means that a) your poetry ISN'T as good (which I can't believe), b ) that you haven't entered enough contests (which I see, now that I go back and look, you have), or c) the contest holders are stupid. Process of elimination leaves option C. lol
I agree with just about EVERYTHING you've said on this page, from the opening paragraph (almost a rant, really ) about the feature box (an irritation which I share, because I didn't realize that til recently either--but if you don't want it clicked on, don't put it there!!!) to the comment about Tolkien not being a writer, even though you love LotR, lol. Awesome page, and you go on my favorites list! Edited on Mar 04, 5:55 p.m. because ''.
-
I did. And I am very happy the poem could help someone.
-
ooo...Did you get a new trophy?
-
no nothing scarey to shoo me off from reading..
take care,
kunjal.
-
You are most certainly welcome. I am glad I could make your day. And the song really was great. I may do this again.
-
Thank you so much for my first ever trophy. You're the best!!!
-
Hey... could you give me your email address so I can send you the song? That is, if you would like to hear it.

Ah, now I get it- you write poems to music, while the piece I submitted to your contest was my music written to poems! I had it backwards!
-
Yeah, well, I tend to rant a little on what I believe in. I have read a lot of the anti-religious rhetoric and the so far to the left they are around the bend politics, that I decided if they could do it, so could I. I may have gone overboard a bit. But I do believe in what I believe. Okay, it helps to be just a bit crazy. But, thank you for the comment. I hope the glimpse is not too scary. I have found a few that scared me enough to NOT read their work. THAT is scary.

'My other stuff comes from the grey recesses of my mind: the places no one has access to. My own personal hell. Stability is over-rated.' .. i just wanted to "applaud" this.. your enitire page is full of conviction and passion.. just great! It was nice to get to "know" u a little..
take care,
kunjal.

Your comment was very sweet and touching, thank you so kindly for the encouragement!

"I took your advice and checked up on the reference you gave me, as I see you noticed. And you must have also noticed that he and I are oil and water. There is no reasoning with him. There is no mutual respect. His only response is insult. He is not even civil to those who support him. Thus, he loses ALL credibility. Even if I agreed with him to any extent, he sabatoges himself. I am all for "to each his own". I will tell anyone who truly desires to know, what I think and belive. He has no desire. His religion is chaos and he practices it with a vengence. But then, God has given us the right to choose our own eternity. I believe that I am of the right faith, not because of a label or the name of my church, but because I believe the Bible. It is the final athority in my life. As for the poor starving one who has never heard of God? There is a passage that says believers will be judged by God's law. The ignorant (i.e. one who does not know) will be judged by his law. That is not an unbeliever who has heard the Word and rejected it; it is the hidden person int the far reaches of the earth who has never had access to the Word.
As someone pointed out to the poster, he is attacking religion, not doctrine. There is a vast difference. I never refer to my beliefs as religion. I try to avoid that whole concept. I have beliefs and faith. It is not based on mortal man, as is the Catholic Church. Nor on a prophet, as is the Muslim faith. Nor even a very good man, as in Buddahism. And as for condemning to hell, that is not my place. I will not be asked my opinion as to whom should be condemned; that is reserved for God.
And I have delved into my faith. I find that when I start to listen to men, then I am in trouble. It still goes back to the Book.
Sorry for the long post. If you like you can delete it; I just wanted to state how I feel and send my cautious thanks for the direction. If nothing else, it was an education, but not a pleasant one. He is like carrying on a discussion with an intelligent child with little common sense or control. Good luck with your serching. If you were unsettled enough with Chrisianity and gnositism to check out athieism, then I feel you will be disatisfied with that also. So, do not give up. Your niche will come. I pray it is one you can spend eternity with."
i must say, i've very impressed with what you had to say....*Claps* i wish they had applause dudes on author pages...hehe. the thing with atheists ( ive been there), is the fact they cannot comprehend the Bible, or the concept of Christianity or God. you can be a Christian for 40 years, but never completely understand it...similar with CeruleanDreamer...as a Christian for 17 years...
ignorance is not necessarily an insult, but to that self of choice...
atheists that 'look into facts' glide over the fact that the reason why theres so much science 'disproving' the theory of Creationism, it might be because God has intended it that way. They also tend to be the type of people that see a wet paint sign, but have to touch it to believe it...its a bit sad; especially when they choose to give up on their faith.
i'd really like to know how our bodies exactly evolved...which came first, exactly...? the digestive system, the food to be digested, the appetite, the digestive juices; etc...or the bones, ligaments, tendons, blood supply, or muscles to move the bones; or the nervous system, repair system, or hormone system...or what about the immune system or the need for it??
when, where, why and how did single-celled plants become multi-celled...and how were there so many of them?
how did reptiles change to birds, considering the structures and makeup are SOO different..?
where did the space for the universe come from? where did matter come from...how was matter so perfectly organized? where did the energy come from to be so organized?
there are so many questions....and maybe you can ask an atheist, or most likely an evolutionist some of those questions...
but yeah, i really like what you said...God bless!

sorry, just to say in response to the comment you left on my poem 'Iniquity', the rhyme is in lines 2 and 4, which is still in place in the last 2 stanzas, even though they are not screamingly obvious. glad you liked it, thanx for taking the time to comment.

Before you respond back to me, I recommend this column:

I don't completely agree with everything he has to say, but he makes some brilliant points.

why didnt you comment on my poem?

On Imagine, yes some times I do feel like no one notices what I do and I may as well not be there but not enough to make me want to be alone and I am sure I have made others feel like that to. I think it is because we take others for grantate and they do the same with us. Bonnie
