You go.
-
Hi there. You changed your name and the system didnt notify me or I missed it in my bulk of system messages. You are on my favorites list, so I know you are a favorite and I should have gotten a message. So, I will risk looking stoooopid. Who the heck were you before the name change? Actually I have had several people on my favorites list change their names recently so I am having a heck of a time matching everyone up. I came here thinking that I would know from your author's page, but you changed it. I don't know exactly what happened, but I am sorry you had to get caught in a controversy.
-
And I am kind of mouthy and kind of windy. LOL Thank you for visiting. I am glad you liked it. So, either you agree with what I have to say, or you did not read far enough to find something you do NOT agree with. Either way, these are my thoughts and beliefs, and you are welcome to agree or disagree. I enjoy discussion. Come back and finish reading.
-
I like your page... well, what I read of it, its kinda long and I'm kinda lazy.
-
-
Nope, but now I will have to try to find it. LOL I am glad you like the page.
-
Great profile, I especially like your alternate definitions on the words Republican, gnostic, etc. Have you by chance heard of The Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose something-or-another?
-
Thank you. It is not my intention to convert anyone to my ideals, but I should have the right to them, the same as anyone else. That is what my page is about. I admit when I am wrong, and expect the same of others, although I am disappointed a lot. LOL And, you may find some of my poetry intriguing, and other swill. Take it with a grain of salt. But, always feel welcome to come and check it out.
-
Without any excuse for the repetition, I just wanted to let you know that your author page is amazing. This is by far the most honest page that I've come across since I've been on AP - it says something about what makes you tick, rather than just who you are and what you do. I'm off to read some of your poetry, which could be no less than intriguing after what I've just read. Thanks so much for sharing, and have a wonderful week.
-
Love your page . I especially like the way you turn the seemingly not so great experiences to possitives. Lol, I will shortly be getting that--you have too many people on your favorites list--message again as I click the add to favorites button

God’s Ways – Wyleian Sonnet CV.
God works in most mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.
Who cannot see is prone to doubt, for that is human norm.
Though seeing is believing and the unseen leads to doubt,
yet he who sees not but believes, knows what Faith is about.
God gave to man the right of choice and blessed him with free will
but hoped that man would follow in His Godly nature still.
Man's inhumanity to man we cannot blame Him for -
neither carnage and destruction nor the poverty or war.
For free choice and free will involve responsibility
of which man loses sight through inability to see
and, if that loss of sight results in loss of Faith as well,
it hardly is the fault of God that Earth's a living Hell!
So, till man follows in God's ways, no use to rant and shout,
for God is simply waiting for mankind to work things out!
Hugh Wyles. October 6th. 2005.

I think too many people pay attention to the stress than the joy. I try to never be stressed if I can help it. I've always enjoyed giving more thna recieving.

You can be an atheist and still enjoy the festivities. I like the idea behind Christmas, but I do think it is way too commercial. I would be happy with hand-made gifts, but the world today does not run that way.
Merry Christmas to you, also. And, well wishes on your journey.
-
It sounds very sarcastic, I'll give you that. I am an atheist, myself...and I mgiht be one of the very few atheists who absolutely LOVES Christmas. I hope you have a merry one.
-
The sad part is, I have no sense of humour, so it is all serious. Seriously, some of it is being sarcastic, some is just fun, but some comes out of the hurt dealt by others. I cannot spend my life crying about the bullies, so, I choose to accept them and dish a little bit back. Fortunately, bullies are not overy bright, and you can insult them without getting caught. And of course, kindness kills. So, all-in-all, I am only half-way there. LOL
-
You author page is always hilarious. I can't decide whether you're being completely sarcastic, or completely ridiculous. Maybe both.
-
Just for the record, that was an actual review done on one of my poems. I have not listed the name to preserve the dignity of the poster. I figure, he needs all the help he can get. Oh, and get this, he wrote a column on...are you ready?...how to post a constructive comment. Is that not a hoot? I love the mentality of this site. It just boggles the mind. I come here when real life bogs me down. It is better than anything on tv or in the comics.
Thanks for stopping by. I live for the real people. Edited on Dec 20, 11:33 because ''.

love this page lol ... the "how not to comment" part is priceless... i was filled to the eyeballs with negativity this morning, but thanks to you (any some prescribed smiles) i might actually have a decent day... it's early though
-
Anything done in excess to the detriment of all else is a sin. So, I suppose amusement would be a sin. And, I visit this site for amusement. I find so many of the comments...amusing. I think my thesarus is broken. Anyway, it is one sin I feel the need to indulge in. (My other sin, grammar nazi, is too heavy to indulge. It just saddens me.) *pouts*
Do drop by again, I have tea and cinnamon bagels from Kroger's. They are the bomb. Now, back to my novel. It is screaming from neglect.
-
Dont amuse yourself too much, I think it might fall under "sin" category-teehee
-
Thank you for dropping by; it is always a pleasure. I cherish your little irreverant comments. They are never out of line even if they are not in line. LOL You do not find me cold and hateful as Hidden-Secrets89 did? Just because I got yanked about her lack of comments on contest entries. Ah, well, etiquette is dead, and I am mournful.
Now, on to big and better. I hope you will continue to visit and find the comments on my page amusing. I try. At times, I even amuse myself. Stop again. Who know who I will hate next week. (Where does she get that, anyway???)
Yours in God (even if you cannot see Him)

Rous baby!
This author page KILLS! Its kind of poemy (no it aint no ding dang word, but I is usin' it anyways-haha) And jeepers, I even get an honorable mention in there~thanks! Oh!...why is it poemy? Your thoughts rack like stanzas in the big warehouse of thought. It reads sort of like devine intervention as if Jesus as a child was playing car chase with his hot wheels collection. Just kidding, I had to throw the J man in there for my Christian friend. So now your saying to yourself "why are you writing to me Mister Gnostic type Atheist/believes in ghosts but not the shephard?" No reason deary, I just read your whole dichroistic write, here. And got tickled by it, thus needing to say hello...Hello!
And-if at anytime, I read your stuff and for some reason, I do not comment...it is merely because, I might not have anything to say at that time, yet, I am merely reading the piece. But 8 times out of ten, I do comment. You have no idea how tempting it is (if I had the actual time) to just run down your page and comment on every line. That'd be kinda fun, wouldnt it? Go to any random authors page and critique it, line for line. My gawd! I have to call hollywood! I just came up with a new shite-ful reality show! Yeehaw...
okay Im leaving now. Have a great day girlie! (and congrats on the new grand baby!)
-
hello Rous, Thanks a lot on your insightful comment on my column (bitter chocolate- child abuse) anyways, I went over the grammar and punctuation again but I feel I may have missed out some bits. Is it possible for you to prrof read it a bit of me, and tell me where it needs more improvement? tjanks again!
-
Thank you for visiting. It is not much, but it is home. I just take what is dished out and mull over the results. Sometimes it is good, sometimes bad. But, I put both here because that is what life is: taking the bad with the good. If not for the very nasty guy on this page, I would not appreciate the very nice ones I have met, which are in the majority.
-
Totally interesting home page.I did not read it all, but I will finish it on another day...honest You have a lot of good advice here about a lot of goings on here on this site.I loved the grow up part.Take care and have a wonderful day.
-
Hello, thank you for visiting my page. I would just like to point out that you did NOT comment on my poem, you left a message on that page, but there was no critique for the poem. That is what I meant. As for judgemental, you would have to know my history here before you could say that. Anyone mentioned here has either been very supportive, or destructive. It is not judgemental, it is just telling it like it is. Sometimes the truth hurts. That does not make it any less true. I give much respect. You can ask those who are on my favourites list, and anyone else who is respectful of me. I never strike the first blow. If I am perceived as rude (your words, not mine) then it is because of the comments of another. (The last thing on my page here was written out of the blue, with no provocation. He was just mean! And, I was not rude back.) You call me rude, I could say that you are childish and immature. Is that true? If you do not think so, then perhaps I am misreading you, as you are misreading me. As for entering another contest, I may or may not, but I will definately check out the bio of the host first, and maybe ask a few questions beforehand. You may want to consider what the problem was, though. You DID change the parameters of the contest, and you DID NOT comment on the poem entered. Those are irrefutable facts. Get over that you screwed up and try harder next time to be fair. That is all I am asking. Learn from the experience and all will benefit. Well wishes with your endeavours, and God bless.
-
i commented on ur poem and i was very honest about it...rude and all! i ment every word...you are sooo judgemental by all the young and old people here and you give no respect. Reading your bio, you are very rude and cold hearted. Get over the fact that you lost a contest and enter it in another one plz! I may be finished now, but you might hear from me again!

I am glad you appreciated it. Too many here are not really interested in a real criticism, only praise for how talented they are, which a lot are not. As you may have garnered, I have run afoul of several of them. I will make the attempt once to help, after that, I just avoid their pieces.
As for editorial programs, if you are using Microsoft Works, you should have spell and grammar check. That is what I use. And for my prose, I use a beta. She is very adept at catching what MS and I do not. It is an idea you may want to try.

Hello Rous,
Im JR Haidenson. First of all I would like to thank you for your input on the Tolkien piece. I was very pleased to see someone had taken time to give me a "worth my time" comment.
I know I shouldn't have posted it so soon, but Im a weak man, I need help. HELP ME! lol. I would like to say that reading your page has given me a great deal of peace. Im also a christian, and I want to write. not so much for others as for my self. I have plenty of ideas, just bad writing. Id like to keep in touch with you, so you can help.would you help? let me know.
Your new friend in cyberspace -JR Haidenson.
P.S I'll look into a good editorial program, and I did have alot of research done for the Tolkien work, please let me know what I might of incorrectly typed that you disagree with.ok ?.later!
-
No, I would say you are right. And, the worse part is not those who just do not grasp the language, or have learned it as a second language; it is those who know it and choose to misuse it. My thinking? If you know how to do something, and yet choose to not do it properly, then that makes you hick, pure and simple.
-
I totally agree with what you said about the increasingly common use of bad grammar and misspelled words. It seems to me that you have to understand how the language works before you can use it to make art, but maybe I'm wrong.
-
no, your not liking it will not effect your chances. I want people to check their spelling to avoid spelling mistakes that occur through out the entire poem and are quite annoying. If i made a spelling mistake then please tell me where.
-
I do agree that there are too many critics that do not take their own advice. And, he does not. I did read some of his stuff. I do that when I get a bad or stupid review, just to see if they know what they are talking about. It seems that the more abusive and foul the review, the lower the quality of their own writing. And, God forbid you make a comment about their grammar. You would think they like people thinking they are third grade drop-outs. The last one I did, he misused a word, then accused me of being extremely rude for pointing it out. Then blocked me. I find that feature the coward's way out. It should only be used as a last resort when civility is not an option. So, for someone to use it casually, I find that juvenile. The twelve-year-olds on here have better self-control than a lot of the adults. Ah, well. That is what dealing with people will get you. You have to take the bad with the good. And, most here are good. It is just the very vocal bad ones that give the site a bad taste.
-
Ahh, most of them don't know what they're talking about anyway. I've only come to respect (and seek) constructive criticism from certain people that I feel are much farther along than I am (and that makes a considerably large number of people here on AP). All in all, whoever this "bunnying" bidder is, chance has it that he hasn't much room to speak. You're a much more pleasing read than the majority.
-
Welcome back. I noticed you have not been around much. I kind of backed off myself. That way I can devote a little more time to my writing.
Hmmm, humour. Well, it is subjective. And I am afraid others do not appreciate it, but it is mine. Actually, since my writing is so bunnyingly bad(according to one review), I guess it is a good thing I have the humour, eh? And, I managed to tick off another poster, so I guess I am still alive.
Keep in touch.
-
Love your new page and loved your old one. I'm afraid that you have the coolest sense of humor on AP . Things have been busy since I returned from AK, I'll be around asap to comment on some stuff... Keep at it, eh?

I wasn't overdue, she was born 3 days before her due date... the worst part were the contractions while I had cervadil in me. They didn't even make me dilate... that happened AFTER the second dose was removed.
Her name is Maura Magdalena. I should put her pic on my author page, huh?
-
I am not sure what you thought of my binary poem, but I just put up the translation if you'd like to read it. Maybe it would make more sense then: allpoetry.com/Poem/1470456
-
Inducing? They threatened with my second. She was only three weeks overdue. The horror stories are just that. Most are no worse than your worst cramps. That, I can handle. I am glad she is healthy. No name? Edited on Oct 06, 8:33 because ''.
-
She is very healthy, and seems ahead developmentally already and she's only a week old. Delivery was induced but only 5 hrs long (one hour of pushing) and pretty much natural. I guess I amazed the nursing staff since she's my first. Beforehand I thought she'd be an only because I heard so many horror stories but now I'm reconsidering- just not yet! LOL
-
Yes, we can move past them. I am not sure why you did it to begin with, as I do not feel I ever was uncivil, but, that was your choice. I suppose lack of communication would be a bigger cause. I have learned here that freedom of speech applies only if you share the general consensus. A hard lesson, but one which will temper my comments in the future. Sorry if I caused you to be upset over it. It really was just a comment on the lack of respect others receive. I would never have made another remark if there had been no response to mine. I only clicked on because I thought it was what it said. As for unblocking, again that is your choice. I only used that feature when a guy became threatening and used some pretty foul language. I view it as a last resort, when reason no longer reigns. Blocking for anything less just closes doors that may not be opened again.
Congratulations on the baby. I hope it was healthy and an easy delivery. Been there, done that. Edited on Aug 24, 5:52 because ''.

I blocked you originally because of an argument on a religious contest, I felt it was getting out of hand and the best thing was to step away.
I am mature enough to have civil discussions about things, if approached respectfully, I treat someone the same way. If perhaps I overreacted then we could blame my pregnancy hormones and stress from moving, and I apologize.
BTW the baby was born last Tuesday and I'm coming back here to catch up so I just thought I'd unblock and see if we could move past our differences.
-
Why, thank you. I think that is the nicest thing anyone has said to me here. I like a good discussion, but too often they go wildly astray on this site. Too many hotheads. LOL *waves hands, not me, un-uh, definately not me* I can respect anyone's beliefs and opinions if they are presented civily. I do not have to embrace nor share them. We have to get along, but we do not have to agree.
-
Yupper, I've often wondered how the human race has made it this far thru history. Unlike yourself, of course..
As to the strings I was refering to, was our first encounter when I first joined allpoetry, and we had a bit of a "discussion". I was struck by your clarity and ability to keep it respectful and civil. Well actually, it was damn refreshing, to agree to disagree traveling the higher road of debate.
Hang your head not, young lady, your are a star amongst asteroids. Streak the sky with your brightness and all that poetic song in the whispers of galactic trails you lay before us.
Thanks for being at this site...
-
*hangs head* I am guilty, but it did not get as bad as usual. I must learn to just let it ride. But, when I am grouped with the lot, it just burns me. I am not one to shove anything down anyone's throat, but that should go both ways. Making blanket statements can bite you on the bunny. I have several friends that are not of the faith, but the subject never comes up, unless they bring it up. Then, look out. That is what happens here. If you do not want opinions from others that disagree, then do not opine, is my opinion.
Thanks for dropping by. I have few enough friends here that I only try to irritate the radical non-friends. LOL BTW, which argument did you come acoss? There have been about three in the last two weeks. LOL
-
Rous, have you been mixing it up with those heathens again? Oh, what am I saying, Im one of them. But thats okay, I respect where you stand. You have always been respectful (with a capitol R) to Everybody, even in the heat of "battle". However insults and violence are usually the dunderhead' answer to their own lack of self. Nothing new in the world of homosapien there, eh? Give em hel...er heaven Rous!
as a great band from the early seventies (the Pink Fairies~as in ethereal creatures) used to say. "dont let the a*holes get you down, UP THE PINKS!"
-
Sorry that Ten Points was for an Honorable mention sorry
-
I revamped it because people were offended by my religious and political stands. I was not trying to convince anyone, I just thought if they could spout their opinions, so could I. But, as with all things, it does not work that way. I figure I get myself in enough trouble just posting to the poems. And the poem Mr Vertigo is refering to is the one I wrote for a contest about him. It is listed in my things. We got into a tiff over the featured box. I did not know about the points thing, and he and another poster objected to my reading their things and not commenting. Now, I know better and we have settled our differences. Very amicably. But, I had to use the poem to get to him. It seems there is this blocking feature. LOL I do not use it, but I am blocked from at least one member, and I am not sure why, I do not know her. But, kids, you know. They have no tolerance for others.
-
revamped???? because you offended people???? all the more reason to add heaps of more of the same.... why can't people just click off if it's not their cup of tea??? urgh... i do, however, like that poem... and i'm extremely unreligious and have been struggling to reclaim some faith lately... in reading mr vertigos comment... i don't see how that poem could be taken offensively... i certainly hope that my 'born again' sister didn't take it that way when i emailed it to her???? i'm always telling her not to preach to me but when i read this, i kind of understood why she does .... it makes so much of the phrase, "save your soul" ... i use to have a link on my author page that read, "if you think you hate me, click here" and it would direct you to a page that screamed "fu* you" that you couldn't get rid of without shutting your computer off... of course i was reported many times, so i was forced to remove it lol... damn.. have i been talking for as long as i feel i have? i have to take my meds before i start cartwheeling around the neighborhood naked
-
Thank you. I learned a lesson, and I hope that maybe you came away with something also. It was an honest misstep on my part that lead to the confrontation. But, still, it could have been handled better. All is well, now.
