I wish I could... But after what happened to her, I can't just go tell "ok, forget everything and post them again". I think I'd go crazy if I were her. I'm sorry. I hope she'll decide by herself to post something again.

Best wishes and thank you,

Hi Diana! Your new A/P mom here. I see that you are working on a novel, so I have a suggestion for you. Go to my author page, scroll down to My List, click on category Helpful Hints for Writers. . . then locate the article Writers' Seven Deadly Sins. After you've read that one, there also is A Successful Query Letter, which is a copy of one I submitted to a publisher: who, by the way, published the novel of which the letter speaks.
Now, my sweet, since I am a very busy old lady, you might not see me around very much; especially during spring, summer and, possibly, fall. However, I do stop by A/P daily to check my messages. So, if there is something specific you would like for me to read and critique, just send an IM to me! I'll read it as soon as I get your request.
In an aside and as an editor myself, I equate writing talent to a piece of raw wood. Before it becomes a thing of beauty desired by all, it must first be honed and shaped, sanded until its surface is silky smooth, then varnished to a high gloss to bring out its natural beauty. This translates: study and study some more about the craft, write anything and everything, edit and re-edit, then submit to the world or a publisher or All Poetry or everywhere.
The greatest strength a writer should have is high self esteem and a belief in his or her talent: mainly because rejection slips come in abundance when writers first begin submitting their work to publishers. It's the dues we all pay.
The next vital strength a publisher looks for in a writer, aside from natural talent, is that the writer be a thorough editor of his or her own work. Sloppy, loose, disorganized writing will result in a publisher not reading muchless even considering that writer's work. So, if you aspire to be an author, which is a title earned only by being formally published, then build the proper strengths within yourself and your work while always maintaining your own voice. Never attempt to write like any other writer or author. Each talent is unique, just as each person is unique.
Okay, hon, I must run. Hope to hear from you soon, my new daughter!
Lots of love and hugs, MomB♥n Edited on May 15, 7:26 p.m. because ''.

Hi I notice you're new, I wanted to help you to learn a little about the sites
All poetry is the one we tend (most people at least) to use the most. It's where we can post our own poetry, enter contests and read other people (none famous, members of the site)'s poetry.
All philosophy is a site for the thinker in you! It's where we discuss things (although sometimes that spills onto other sites if it relates to the poetry/story) of interest in philosophy, for example politics/science/religion/society. We have our deep conversations there.
Story write is basically a story site, just like All Poetry but for the stories. We write our own stories, read other (none famous) author's works and enter story contests.
Old Poetry (this is one lots of people get mixed up about, it's not the same as All Poetry ) is a place where we read famous poets' work. Generally they're either dead or too famous to want to post here (unf, it'd be cool but it doesn't tend to happen...) so it's a better idea to comment about 'the poet' and not recommend they 'keep writing' in case they're dead or something. Also, you cannot post here- it's merely a storage of some of the finest poetry in English literature (and translations of other countries' finest works).
If you don't understand I'll IM you an article about Old Poetry or answer any of your questions
All the best,
Pozo

I can hardly stress to you how effective your commenting on others will be. Just read them and do it and the yield will bring about a following that will be uncanny if you stick with it! If you comment on at least (4) authors before you post your own, you'll see!!
Since you've registered, you will ALWAYS be able to post your work. However, notice that Kevin, the site owner is giving you a free four day Preferred Membership!. That means you can customize your page with your own backgrounds , photos , and \images . If you like it and want to continue as a Preferred Member, you can sign up ! (see the tab ).

You'll find healthy competition in the contests that can earn you plenty of points so that you can either save them for holding your own contest, OR spending them to feature your work in the Showboard to the right of this screen. In fact, by reading the Featured Poems you will have the opportunity to comment on some of the best on the site and those who are wanting your opinions on improving. Please feel free to IM one of us with the colored highlighting over our names. If we don't answer, it's not on purpose. We might be logged off and our names still show in the list. Have fun!!!
