Hi Lucas
This is an interesting page, and you make some well-delivered points; especially about marriage and the deluded hypocrisy of the "general public consensus"
Having returned from a short AP break, I'm looking around for some new people to read etc., and stumbled on your page. So I hope to look over your works as time goes by. You seem an interesting person from your profile here and on xanga, and seem to have a lot of creative pursuits and interests into which you channel your energy, which is good.
I hope you're finding inspiration to write, and which can be directed into your other interests.
Best wishes
Stuart

Essentially, we are a minority -- not because there are fewer of us -- but more specifically, because we lack the ability to directly change our status in this "great" nation. We are a minority, because the powers that be, are against us. So, let's take a look at the history of social activism, and see what we can do to change this.
Two people come to mind.
Dr. King -- if we take his peaceful protest approach, we will be -- anywhere, everyywhere -- wherever. We will be ourselves, despite what society tells us . . . basically, "I'm thinking -- screw you all, but I'm not going to say it -- and eventually, you'll see I'm like you."
Then, there's Malcom X. "Look here, you crazy bastards, you'll respect me, give me freedom -- or, I'll blow you all to pieces."
In the study of religion and sociology, it is most frequently made clear that the extremes are just that -- extreme, and there are better options availabe . . . akin to Buddhism or Taoism. There surely must be a middle "path" to social activism.
So, we have activism as passive, and activism as uber militant -- so, what if we take activism as . . . visual, verbally militant, physically passive.
Akin to Dr. Maya Angelou -- among the most FAMOUS activists for minorities, in the United States (and around the world).
I am a phenomenal woman . . . still I rise -- that kind of stuff. March on Washington, in you heels and tiaras, but don't club POTUS when he pops his head from his silver laced, bullet proof, twenty-five thousand dollar window. Instead, kiss him (and get a picture of it).
Surely, if the President is Gay, the nation will be too.
by the way, I heard of a variant definition of Homophobia -- quite some time ago, but the source remains a mystery to me.
"Homophobia is the irrational fear that while you are at work, several gay men will break into your house, and re-decorate."

I think more people should hear your opinion on gay marriages, you make a really strong, very very good point.
I agree with you entirely.

Hey...I was checking out your page, and I agree with everything. I'm from KC as well and that whole "Rocket's Ex" thing absolutely sickened me, too! So now I only listen to 96.5 The Buzz... better music, better DJ's, less shallow drivel! I also really liked the "'President Bush? Are you looking at my ass?'" quote you had after the study thing. It made me laugh. Quite loudly, actually. Anyways, just wanted to drop in and say hi. You seem like a cool kid.

hey, love the stuff on homophobia! It's like George Orwell said in Animal farm only altered, "All men are created equal, but some are more equal than others" lol thats about the size of our government lol

Hey Lucas!!!
What's new?
Your leaving?
That sucks. Your poems have really influenced me and I will miss them dearly.
Hey!! Maybe I can use that for when I enter your contest.
Thanks for listening.
Dominic
P.S.- I'm a question-talker.

Hey Crimson, what's up? I am 15, gay. Hard to find other GLBT at first. Good to know there are more gays. Power to US! Anyway: drop me an im. Nice to meet you
-
Wow, how awesome... I saw that you were leaving AP on your ocntest, and decided to come check out your page--what I found was, well, weird, lol. Not because of what you wrote... but because not only do I agree with everything you said, I also happen to live about 20 minutes from Jeff City. Ever heard of Eugene? Yeah. I was afraid that, other than the 15-or-so people I know who completely agree with gay rights, there was no one in this state with little enough hick blood in them to open their minds. Thank you for proving me wrong. Everything you said up there is so right, so true--I just wish other people would realize it. It's sad that you're leaving--it's gonna be terrible for this site to lose a person like you. But, you've gotta do what you've gotta do, and I can see what you mean when you say being on this site isn't like it used to be--I joined September 2003, and it's changed. Good luck in all you do, and stay true to yourself!

hah. well i didn't mean it as a bad thing cause it's no where near that. i think i worded myself wrong. hahha. forgive me!

I've come for you, lukey-lukey, bo bukey. . because you commented on one of my poems, and said something that made me want to poke you in the eye (despite my fondness of you -- and your eyes). You said something like *it has been proved that being gay is a genetic defect* it's not a defect -- and, it's not purely genetic -- few things are purely genetic, but. . . my sexual orientation isn't a defect, any more than yours -- it's a fabulous thing (had to throw in the gay work) so. . . lukey, lukey, bo bukey -- poke, poke.
-
A brilliant collection. Please continue. I promise I'll get around to commenting... I'm just too careful with my words.

I love your homepage. What you're saying is soooo true. I told my parents that same stuff and they're all gay marriage and gay rights and they said is was a "mockery of everything they had" and that people choose to be gay. Bull in my opinion. I didn't choose to be gay. Who would choose to have their parents hate them?

Lucas, you didn't have to put my coment up there. :-p
But thank you anyway.
Love ya,

I like your author page. Its all stuff I believe, too. I just wish I could force that ignorant 70% of the population to believe the same thing. Its only fair because they've been pushing their beliefs on my way to long. Just because I'm not gay, doesn't mean that I'm going to agree with them and sit back and watch them force the world to close their minds. Sorry, I've had a bad day and thinking about stuff like this pisses me off. I'm done venting now.

From what I have seen, you are brilliant and precocious. I wish you the best in your writing and look forward to reading it myself. I could see you as becoming a new favourite, and something to look forward to, in terms of refreshingly new work. I wish you the best, and may the leaves of your life never lose their colour.
Cheers. -Chris

It's for a petition to make gay marriage a legal right.. If you don't support it (and I have met a few gays that haven't so.. yeah) then that's okay. Anywayz, byebye! ^.^

Major credit to you for being so strong and so proud of who you are. I've always been very openminded about things such as homosexuality and really don't see anything wrong with it. You seem like a lot of fun and a truly remarkable person.
MORE POWER TO YOU, MY FRIEND!!
