thanx for the cmt on my poem "cold steel refuge". i preciate the compliments and, surpringly, the criticism. i ususally dont take it that well lol. yes discern is a word. id tell u wat it means but i dont feel like lookin it up rite now. i looked it up while writin the poem so i didnt just throw some random word in there lol. but again thanx

Tongue-in-cheek means kind of a goofy ability to poke fun; even to laugh at yourself. It's a special gift to have, especially if your life is a difficult one. My son has ADHD, by the way, and hates school. It's a real ordeal for him, because he's the target of bullies, dickheads and the teasers and tormenters. I send you hugs (first one by a stranger, perhaps?!).

alas, my angst has been with me for almost 10 years, i don't think its going away, which is why, i have Zoloft!
i've never heard the frase "toungue-in-cheek" what's it mean, and i'm asking you as they don't have frases in the dictionary

But one thing that will never go away, is my lack of birth parents and that's what scares me most of all, that i never got to hug them.

What an extraodinary blend of intelligence beyond your years and deep emotional angst that afflicts all teenagers! i really like everything i've read by you so far. even though there are consistant themes i think that you say something different in each one. it's like the voice of your memories.

'three precious words' makes me think of my favorite song by across five aprils called "a year from now" ... it's the best song to hear when all you can think of is heartbreak... his voice is soft and sure at the same time... it's one of the only songs they wrote that's not screaming heavy metal and i love it all. they're a good band but anyways yeah...
go look up the lyrics. i think they're quite good and i think your poem suits the same frame of mind... well sort of. ;-D

Thanks for the comment! No I'm not in prison but my father is and my poem was part way saying that I'm scared cuz I'm turning into him, I was in jail for 12 days though in april for domestic violence with my older sister and she lied to the cops and i got in trouble. Jay does forgive me most of the time but he still has a friend that i caught him telling her he had feelings for her and i've caught him telling other girls that he loves them and wants to be with them but isent cuz he dont want to ruin friendships. He leaves for college 4 hours away on september 17th and i'm terrified that even though i have a promise ring and he asked me to marry him that with him being so far away he'll cheat on me or leave me. Even though he says he loves me to much i dont know if that will be enough. I live with him and his mom but im still not sure about things.Well im gonnastop blabbering you probally dont want to here my crying and drama. thanks hope to talk to you again.

savy, i wish, i spend months with a gf then months inbetween, trying as hard as i do to get a job as someone to love me. Never thought about skinny dipping, besides, since there's no pools around here, it would need to be a really deep puddle

I guess i am a trouble maker, but i know how to make trouble without hurting people, unless people laugh so hard they pee their pants, then i guess it hurts their reputation.

I am, i haven't seen a movie since The Lion King the original one was in theaters, 1995.

I is, but then again, it both brings people to me, but more than not pushes them away

WELL I KNOW HOW THAT IS TO SOME EXTENT...AT ONE POINT MY FATHER KIDNAPPED FOUR OF MY BROTHERS AND ME AND TOOK US TO EUROPE. WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY CONTACT WITH OUR MOM. IT WAS SCARY. WE ATTEMPTED TO CALL HER ON NUMEROUS OCCASION BUT MY DAD ALWAYS CAUGHT US AND BLEW UP. HE WAS VERBALLY ABUSIVE AND NOW EVEN AFTER EVERYTHING....KIDNAPPING, ABANDONMENT MY SIBS AND I STILL TRY VERY VERY HARD TO PLEASE HIM. BUT DEPRESSION IS ANOTHER WAY AROUND THE PAIN.
