  hey, thanks for your criticism, i must admit i didn't really push myself much with that one and it's by no means the work im most proud of. i dont write much cheery poetry, most is angry and inspired by the same inspiration as that piece. i really admire your work though an i can see why you win so much! i hope if you have a spare few mins you get to read some of my other work, 'lost' is a piece i am proud of. thakns again

  Hey Gals! I just want you to know.. that even if in the past years we have not been as close or we have not spent as much time together. I love each one of you. And You have all inspired me in different ways. Even when the world is agaisnt us... we have our girlfriends, we should be closer, spend more time together and remember that when we have no one else, we have our Girlfriends. I have learned so much from you all, and will forever be grateful for our times of friendship.
  
  I found this and liked it so much, I TYPED it out to share with you. I hope you will take the time to read it. Know I love you , forever.
  
  They'll be more important as you get older. Your girlfriends. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you'll have, you are still going to need girlfriends. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them. And remember that girlfriends are not only yhour friends, but your sisters, your daughters and other relatives too. You'll need other women. Women always do.
  
  Girlfriends bring you casseroles and scrub your bathroom when you need help. Girlfrinds keep your children and keep your secrets. Girlfriends give advise when you ask for it. Sometimes you take it, sometimes you dont. Girlfriends dont always tell you that you're right, but usually they're honest. Girlfriends still love you, even when they dont agree with yoru choices. girlfriends laugh with you, and you dont need canned jokes to start the laughter. Girlfriends pull you out of james. girlfriends help you get out of bad relationships. Girlfriends help you look for a new apartment, help you pack and help you move. Girlfriends will give a party for your son or daughter when they get married or have a baby, in which ever order that comes. Girlfriends are there for you in an instant and when the hard times come, girlfriends will drive through blizzards, snowstorms, hail, heat and gloom of night to get to you when your hour of need is desperate. Girlfriens listen when you lose a job or a friend. Girlfriends listen when you children break your heart. Girlfriends listen when your parents' minds and bodies fail. Girlfriends cry with you when someone you loved dies. Girlfriends support you when the men in your life let you down. Girlfriends help you pick up the pieces when men pack up and go. Girlfriends rejoice at what makes you happy and are ready to go out and kill what makes you unhappy.
  
  Time passes. Life happens. Distance separates. Children grow up. Marriages fail. Love waxes and wanes. Heart break. Careers and jobs come and go. Parents die. Colleagues forget favors. Mean dont call when they say they will. But Girlfriends are there no matter how much time and how many miles between you. A girlfriends are there no matter how much time and how many miles between you. A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it for yourself, your girlfriends will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on. praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf and waiting with open arms at the valleys end. Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you. Or come in and carry you out.
  
  A daughter, sister, sister in law, nieces, cousins and friends bless our lives. the world wouldnt be the same without them and neither would I. when we beagan this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other.

You write very beautifully, as your contest winnings show. You also create great contests, even if the offerings are not necessarily up to the high standard you have set!   You sound alot like me emotionally. But from what you say your atitude doesnt match mine. I am cold and angry and yes i got a bad temper but i get alot of it out by poetry. I only got 32, and i have only been writing for a few weeks, but you got some nice writes. So keep it up. ttyl. later.
