    I asked Lisa what she thought poetry was.

    "It is the search for art," she said.

    So I decided to go out
    a hunter with a quest
    my poetic sword forged
    by her inspired words.

    There was Art to be found
    and I meant to be the one to find it.

    Somewhere between the backdoor
    the grumpy mortgage brokers
    and the butts littering the ground
    just outside the ashtray

    i think i found it:

    He was a small Italian man
    I guess he had to be in his 80's
    and he was coming on like a gigolo
    with a hardon and an empty pocket.

    But Gepetto is endearing
    with his unfaltering belief
    that wood becomes Life
    and Art is a Puppet with
    a heart.


    There is also the Dragon Lady.
    Each time she holds the door
    for little-ol-me, I find myself
    blushing. The celebrity's fool.

    Worse yet, is I created her this way.

    Classic beauty - cool exterior
    the way she never notices her young Guido
    eying her with Future dripping
    off silent lips.

    Mostly, though, I always recall
    my favorite concierge.

    He teaches me new language -
    as an Art Seeker, I really
    appreciate his knowledge.

    He knows Korean, Chinese, Japanese -

    He speaks Human
    and it touches me every day.

    I was sent here by Suzanne to take a peek at your beloved pets..

    I gotta say it.. I think it takes a special person to love animals.. You have to go beyond your own scope. (feels like a goose saying that but animal lovers will get it)

    My Mom has taken up a stray compound.. She has my old doghouse in her backyard and it's got a dog bowl and blanket and I kid ya not, animals come to her. I told her they know she has a kind heart and will find them homes.

    So far she has had 4 strays. And kept two.
    That doesn't include the two she already had.


    Me I have 1 dog and one cat. I had another cat and I am still looking for him.

    So here is to the Animal lovers.

    And damn I talk alot.

    You must see that movie if you can, I'm not there - it is so good.

    Look at all these animals. Do you have stock in Carpet Fresh? I always love that when my mother walks through the door after a particularly humid July day and says "Wow, it really smells like DOG in here."

    but I suppose that is not as bad as when she walks through the door and says "Lisa, you look like absolute crap - when is the last time you looked at yourself?"

    She's so good for my ego, my ma.

    Anyway, enough about me. Wint-O-Green Kisses to all those in the Temple of the Mango.

    Sounds like a very moving year. I hate losing my furry and feathery friends. It sucks a lot.

    'tis a lovely lot of friends gathered here. happy times always kept in your heart. also really love that old wooden door, so much character in that door, and i bet it has seen a lot of going and coming, a door like that needs to be opened by warmth, closed only to cold, and forever have wonderful surprises on either side, for all who live behind it. Enjoyed the page

    I think it's a cross between Van Gogh and Dali ..lol and some odd style I used to have .. before I started doing what I thought I should .. instead of what I wanted.

    Years ago a budgie ( the cheap versions of parrots ) landed on our balcony from out of nowhere. We were thrilled and called he/she, Freebie.
    Amazingly somehow Frebbie managed to adapt to two cats, one snake and a ferret.. and seemed really happy ...
    it was one of those rare gifts that happen out of nowhere..

    One night we had a party, and a bit too many people inhaling various things. When I woke up the next day one of the first things I saw was Freebie laying on the bottom of the cage feet up. I felt truly terrible, still do about that, but I keep hoping he/she went out with a smile..

    for you.. and Suzi.. itty bitty kitty and Mango..
    life just sucks some days.
