catz on April 21, 2007Hi fellow cat lover and poetess
Nice to meet you. I received your IM, I'm always happy to meet another lover of those finicky, egotistical and ultimately wonderful creatures.
And hey, we even share our same names

Babs Dee on June 19, 2006Funpum I meant to say I often read Jabberwocky & other nonsens poems out to kids at school. I'll have to look out for more of yours. Babs Dee

Babs Dee on June 18, 2006Funpum, thanks for taking the time & effort to read and critique again. I had the cheek to include one of yours in my critique duties- of critiquing other's poems. I chose ONE of yours just to let you know I am reading yours and I do think at the naive level and appreciate making contact with someone like minded- though better poetically skilled. I like to escape from the hardness of the adult world by writing for children. I also have written songs for them- (I'm a muso too!) I find all this a nice little world to escape to for the moment of the writing or sharing it with others. Babs Dee.
(Sorry I didn't realise this guest book page was here or had messages to read, until just tonite.) -
funpum on June 16, 2006P.S. One of my proudest moments was finding I was in the 'nonsense' chapter of a book right next to Lewis Carroll's 'Jabberwocky'. Funpum

funpum on June 16, 2006Gracious that was weird - you were writing to me at precisiely the same time! I recognise that you are capable otherwise I would never have been so outrageous as to criticise a new members poem! I find that I can get ideas across to children because I do think in a fairly straightforward and clear manner -I like to get difficult points across in as simple a way as I can. I mainly write for children because it's just inherent in me to write at that level and with humour - I don't seem to be able to help it. However I am not patient enough to be a teacher, so I admire those who are very much. I only get to meet children other than my own at poetry days etc! (Which I do enjoy but I find a little goes a long wayyyyyyyy!) Funpum
