Vera Rich on May 5I came across your page by chance - and I very glad to see someone interested in what my Grandmother insisted we always called "la belle langue francaise).
And congratulations on getting your novel accepted.. and so young, too. Although I began to send out work to editors when I was 11 (and my family politely pretended to know nothing about it, though somehow whenever I was feeling a bit "down" after yet another rejection-slip, Granny just happened to make one of my favourite puddings), I was 15 before I had my first piece published... and oh what joy when, at the usual Friday evening family discussion of the coming week's finances, I - every so casually of course - tossed the cheque for it on to the table!!!
But it really is important to keep sending your work out... Now that you have one novel accepted, you must think about the next... Allpoetry - and its sister-sites are interesting and supportive... but the real world out there - the world that pays for yoru writing - and (still) prints it in ink on paper is ultimately the one that matters. So if you will accept some advice from a person you must think to be almost as old as the dinosaurs.... keep up the good work!!! -
