I noticed in your current contest that you applied the "recursive Fibonacci sequence" to judge the poems. I am unfamiliar with this system. Could you send me a copy of the point system?
  • wishintreeUK on October 13, 2006
I have been trying to find how to send my 7 poems to that I feel I enjoyed the most for this contest... struggling to say the least... however, I shall post them here and hope that is ok... if not and it disqualifies me from the contest, not to worry, it's the taking part that matters.

    Best of luck everyone.

    ~Katie~

My 7 chosen poems are as follows: The Meadow by paullallady

    contrition by Rowan

    Leaving Home by Night Hope

Monach of the Glen by Elfin

Wings of Dusk by Nicholas Yancey

    Thorned Beauty or Beauty Thorned?

Stone Cutters Arms by Night Hope.

    I hope this is ok....

These are the ones I particularly enjoyed, though not in order of preference.

Obviously reading into your profile, you strike me as a common writer. Any advice for one who wants to take a "wack" at it? (^_^)
  • Ayla YellowRose on August 12, 2006
I must say, I've looked over contest 42...I was so suprised at how many gorgeous pieces are still lurking around the site. Good luck judging, or rather, god luck releasing

  • the walls have ears on July 28, 2006
... Mr. Winkler why dont you have any poems posted?
  • walking in the rain on July 20, 2006
Painting is silent poetry; poetry is eloquent ---i love your motto--that is great
  • Vera Rich on July 19, 2006
Really... this is TOO bad... I thought Winklings had minds above fancy borders and other irrelevancies. And mauve type on a black background is agony for those of us with less than perfect sight.

PLEASE - could we not keep to a good plain white - or at the worst, pale pastel - background with black type?

And no fancy borders nor illustrations!
  • Red Red Rose on July 19, 2006
Just find the Group, under Groups, and submit an application. We will be so happy to have you among us!

  • Toni A Christman on July 7, 2006
Oh, of course I'll keep that secret about Ron, Wanda. I'm sorry you have troubles that keep you from groups. I hope you have some peace and quiet and good health soon. I do know how hard it gets to keep up with comments and favorites' new works, etc. Since I am retired, I have a little too much time on my hands and I have the privilege of being able to do a little more on the site. Best wishes, Toni
  • Night Hope on July 7, 2006
Actually, Toni, I just dropped out... I dropped out of 5 groups the other night, including this one...I just don't have the time or energy for it...I'm still Ron's "advisor" in whatever capacity, but I can't do any groups anymore...I've had computer issues for over a month, been sick for 3 weeks, gettin' ready to change jobs, plus numerous other things goin' on...let alone the comments/replies/IM's & postings around here... Congrats on joining anyway; you'll love it, I'm quite sure...Ron's a real sweetheart...but don't tell 'im I said so, ok??? Wanda
  • Toni A Christman on July 7, 2006
LOLOL, Wanda....good to see you here. That's a great office you have there. I just joined and I'm really looking forward to this group's activities! Toni
  • Night Hope on July 2, 2006
Sooo, Ron...ya managed to find me an office anyway, ehhh??? Personal advisor...hmmm... Yeahhh, I think I can do that one...as long as ya take advice well... Be well, ya Sweet Man... Wanda

  • Lyndon on April 9, 2006
Some may not know it, but Gennelle is responsible for the re-arrangement and streamlining of Oldpoetry.
She is My Minder (for which I am very grateful) and a very diplomatic and even-handed moderator on AP where many of you know 2% of tough customers can make it touigh for us all. On behalf of the Winklers, I salute you , Gennelle.

    Lyndon.
  • Andantino on April 1, 2006
Gennelle (Maatkara) is responsible for our lovely wallpaper. Is not she a sweetie? Ron
