I was reading some of the names of people who were online in the rt hand margin, and my eyes freaked out and read like two screen names at once. I read your name as "an old cheese burger" instead of "an old codger".

Violet Lace : I'd like a coffee please.... on August 21
Tea is not my style. I like your getting to know you bit. I love cowboys. My mama always said, if a cowboy chases you, catch him. If you are chasing a cowboy, don't waste your time. *lol ~Daina

Laughing in my sweet southern tea, if one knows where to look cowboy. yeah if one only knows where to look.

May I offer you a belated welcome to AP? I've been on the site for a little over five years. There are a lot of great writers here, if one knows where to look. Fortunately, I do. I have many various lists attached to my author's page to help enhance our artistic experience, including poetry, art and music...(former) college librarian. Can't help myself. Enjoy, Poet.

hey^-^ sorry to bug you....but I left a comment here before that mentioned that you reminded me of someone. If you have the time and inclination, I recently posted a poem about him, and would love you know what you think
(If you do, it's the one entitled "all there is to learn")

I like your hat, and I'm glad I don't have to wear it also. That stumped whooped chitlins thing made me laugh out loud. Laughings good medicine. I appreciate it.
By the way, your out of coffee. Sorry about that. I was up late last night.

Just dropped by to say "Howdy". Looks like you're fittin' right in and your 'ritin' is well received. Glad to see it! Take care and Have fun. Steve

What is holding up chapter 4 ? inquiring minds want to know?
-
Hello. Much peace and love.
-
when I got to number 18 it cracked me up... and stump whooped chitlins... good one.
-
Your poem is beautifully expressive, you paint a picture with words. I hope you get to go back to see it all and feel the peace again. I live in the countryside ( Sussex England) I have the same feelings about our 'whale back downs' and looking down on a patchwork quilt of little fields some golden with corn, others with sheep or cattle grazing. When I look from my window I look onto a field with 4 ponies not quite the same as your wild horses but it suits me.
I'm a fan of Dr Hook your poem made me think of their song
This is the last morning that I wake up in this crowded city, staring out the window as the buildings block the skies, this is the last morning I wash in rusty water, trying to shave the face that I don't even recognize etc etc
Thanks for the read and the lovely pictures.

Quiet you are, pain has stilled your pen?

ddahl : Your poetry on August 4
I don't write poetry, but I'm reading and trying, and I have been to many sites! I believe your poetry is my favorite of all, and that is saying alot, because sometimes I'll sit here almost all day reading. Bless you and your poetry mind!
-
I read and appreciated every word of your profile. Being a country gal myself, I understood ever blasted word of it! If yall are ever in my neck of the woods...pull yourselves up a stump and we'll build a fire in the pit and chew the fat. My husband can rustle up some mean steaks on the grill!!

-
Wow. I just randomly looked at your page, and now I'm hooked.....
-
I just stopped by your page because I saw your comment on another person's poem & decided to find out what more there was to be found out. I'm a country girl, myself. Born & bred in Alabama, the heart of Dixie. While I've been citified, I fully intend to go back & live the country life, for I miss the slow laziness of the good ol' South. I'm glad to have stopped by; I love seeing other country folk.
-
I wanted to let you know that I nominated your cowboy poetry for the front page and they accepted it, so its supposed to be there soon I guess! Love Ya my friend!
-
I had a hat just like that
Wore it seventeen years
It smells when it rains
Its brown went to greens
But it still keeps the heat
On my head
I bought me another
to bury a brother
Well, actually my best man
In the casket he lay
In confederate gray
And the staff put my hat
at his side
While his son on my shoulder cried
I gathered my notes from
the words that I spoke
And realized my hat was gone
I giggled and grinned
That prankster again
Had laughed last
At my expense!
-
Your writing is very addictive, let the ink flow freely...Mystic
