  • Prodigy : Hey there on March 11, 2008
I don't think I ever wrote on your page. Or did I? My memory fails me. Anyway I hadn't visited AP for some time so as long as I can stay, I've decided to visit around and read and comment, lest the AP flame dies forever. You're welcome to review my poems all the time, even if they suck hehe. Take care.

    Dear Ahkam,
You misinterpreted what I said. I do not think that love comes with force. What I meant to say is that love cannot be held by force. It is appreciated when love is accepted by the other party if there is a freedom of the two lovers (husband and wife)
to appreciate each others' virtues and differences and if they trust each other.

hey, how is everything? i never really thanked you for that wonderful poem you left on my page, so THANK YOU! lol. and now i've decided to return the favor. and this is actually posted on my front page (because im lame like that). but i absolutely love this poem, Goethe is such a beautiful poet...

    was unterschiedet
    Goetter von menchen?
    Dass viele wellen
    Vor jenen wandeln
    Ein ewiger strom
    Uns hebt die welle
    Und wir versinken

    What is the difference
    Between Gods and Humans
    That many waves before each
    From an eternal stream
    The waves lift us up;
    The waves overcome us,
    And we are swept away.
    -Goethe

well, thanks again! and i hope all is well

    Ahkam, YOU NEED TO UPDATE!
  • gothchyld on December 29, 2005
Perhaps I should pursue philosophical studies where one can always voice their pessimistic views on society. I suppose love is your source of energy to think; but mine would be simply being an observor on the lonesome streets.
  • gothchyld on December 11, 2005
Thank you for your compliments. Indeed, sometimes society changes so much that you wonder if there is anything absolute..at least we can still retain our paradigms that way. Currently Romeo & Juliet's romantic essences have disappeared as two people committed suicide due to the consequences of lust here. I guess...we really need to evaluate our society and that there is much to be done. Is it the same in your country?

By the way, you are a great poet..YOU NEED TO UPDATE! I am running out of poems to critique.

Hi Professor Any new madness coming? I hope so.
  • phatalvision on January 8, 2004
Hi I see you are from Pakistan. I think it is great how we can gather from around the world to share our poetry. I am impressed by those who can write poetry in a second (and sometimes third) language. It is a task just doing it in my one and only language!
  • nokiddin08 on December 18, 2003
    hi how r u?
  • Ahkam on December 13, 2003
Hye! Dear! Hope u r fine, m fine 2. have a wonderful piece of tranquility by Alxander Pushkin.

“I thought you had forgotten, heart,
    Your ability to suffer pain.
That easy gift would come, I thought,
No more again! No more again!
Gone were the raptures and the griefs
    And the dreams you half-believed. . .
But now I know, while beauty lives
so long will live my power to grieve.”
    Oh! That’s it.
    Have a nice time.
    Ur well wisher,
    Ahkam.

    Dear Rosi ! Hello!
Hope u having a nice time
Well good lady though I am not some poet of a type u my expect but one thing is common in both of us the we love the classic literature to the level of madness
I am sending you one of my poems for your kind remarks.
    “I Am All Alone”
Though I was not the one,
    A perfect match for you,
I loved you for my own sake,
    It’s altogether true.
Well, let me put it straight___ ,
    My love was extempore,
    I couldn’t see and wait___ ,
    A couldn’t love you more.
    My days are now numbered,
My dreams of you are gone,
    My love is your companion,
But I am all alone !

Hy! Do you like haikus , well I love haikus
Here is one of my own , I mean composed by me
    “ I am alone___ ,
    where is the God?
    My only companion”

I love basho___ the father of haiku
    Have one by basho:
    “Winter rain
    falls on the cow-shed;
    a cock crows.”
    Have some more!
    How very noble!
    One who finds no satori
    in the lightning-flash

    Breakfast enjoyed
    in the fine company of
    morning glories

    Traveling this high
    mountain trail, delighted
    by violets

I have a good no. Of basho’s haikus
Hope u well also like it.
    Take care,
    Your well wisher,
    Ahkam

    Dear Mr. Ahkam,

That's a very beautiful sweet poem of yours. Do you know how to post poems? All you must do is click the little 'add' button, and type your poem into it. You can put your poem in a contest if you like, and if you win, you can get points. Do you have any other poems in French or in Arabic? If so I'd like to see them.

  • RoseBlossom on December 2, 2003
Lol, that's ok, I meant are you going to post any poetry or anything?

I love the poem, it's beautiful
  • philophant on December 2, 2003
    hello.
here is another english translation of this poem:

"Oh, I have loved you, and perhaps my spirit
Still harbours a warm glow of love today.
    But God forbid that you be burdened with it;
I would not sadden you in any way.

I loved you in a wordless, hopeless fashion,
Sometimes in jealous rage, sometimes struck dumb.
I loved you with a deep and tender passion.
May you be loved like this in years to come."

    and here is another translation:

"I loved you: love may not have died
    Completely in my soul,
But don't let it disturb you,
I don't wish you any pain.

I loved you without hope or voice,
    With diffidence, jealousy,
As tenderly, truly, as God grant
    You may be loved again."

This is a sad poem, yet beautiful. It says, "don't be hurt by this love of mine, this silent, jealous love which I bear thee. Only, may God grant that you be loved like this in the future." This poem is very ironic, for while he says his love is not worth her pain, he wishes that she may be loved like this love he has for her in the future. A beautiful poem. You have good taste.

    Peace
Phil (I'm a girl, but I use this name in place of my real name.)

    hy! it's my favorite poem,
    Enjoy
    "I Loved You..."
I loved you: and, it may be, from my soul
The former love has never gone away,
    But let it not recall to you my dole;
I wish not sadden you in any way.

I loved you silently, without hope, fully,
    In diffidence, in jealousy, in pain;
I loved you so tenderly and truly,
As let you else be loved by any man.

    By Alexander Pushkin
