    ...Wolverhampton! Where's that? Lol... North of the Watford gap, I'm guessing! Anyhow, I have vague recollections of Portland...and I suppose you can't help being a city boy. The transition process can take a while, but you'll get there eventually. (...Does your sister live on Portland, by any chance? ...Oh...right...maybe it has the same reputation as Tasmania. DNA test are useless there now.)

    I'm a city boy really, born and bred in Wolverhampton rather than born inbred on Portland where I now live! I worked in Dorchester (it is still there) for a while but now work on Portland and am becoming to feel at home now I never leave the island!

    Explains why my sister is looking nervous!

    Hey Michael ~ like your work!

    What part of Dorset do you come from? I was born in Wincanton, Somerset, but did 6th form at Leweston in Sherborne ~ my father now lives in Sherborne. I once crashed my mother's car into the hump-backed bridge over the rail line in Oborne, which collapsed a few days later! (Didn't they used to deport people to the colonies for 'crimes' like that once?). Funny how I should end up out there! Anyway, I worked as a nanny in Friarmayne Manor just outside Broadmayne (nr Dorchester) just before emigrating.

    I can remember idyllic summer holiday jobs in Swanage (the Durlston Court Hotel ~ oh my God, Mrs Shadbolt!!), and the one across the street..can't recall the name now. Worked in both, one time or another, and probably drank in every single pub up and down the entire town! (Well...you know what they say about convent school girls...). Bus stop parties were all the rage back then, so no doubt I've been moved on by Police from most of those, too!
