I'm on a new journey that I didn't know I was going to take. Looking forward to new beginnings...and planning to hold true the person that I was always supposed to be... *smile* with less baggage.
This is a poetic moment for me,
Lines,
Mixed and matched to form a symbolic anomaly,
Words,
Blended for the people that thought I couldn’t come to see
That magic in rhyme is the only way to breathe,
This isn’t just a run of the mill 5 lines 4 verse,
Iambic pentameter,
More of a love and lies,
Hate my façade,
Hiding then searching to find the minds eye kind of passionate thing,
I’m not trying to define the world
Or put childish themes to ungrateful beings
And say that they just don’t get it
I’m not about to front you out
For the miseducated and underappreciated,
It’s not about the men to women and women to men
That can’t seem to create the art in colorful words
So please don’t try and define me with statistics
I’m easily schooling you, Just take the time to Respect It
As Lauryn put it so blissfully, Respect is just my minimum
I constantly see my peers put down,
So I tend to find myself defending them,
This isn’t just a poetic vision for me
It’s the blood running through my veins that beats with the harmony
Of united voices begging for equality
And I’ve only just begun to shine from the Queens born before me
We are already in a depression, 10 years past a repression
Only getting pennies out of quarters, neglecting to make ends meet,
Don’t continue to judge my sister, If you see her drag her feet
Don’t prolong condemning my brother,
If he’s not faded and not jaded by his never ending circumstance,
We can’t seem to get past or past,
They say only the strong survive,
But it seems only the fanatical outlast.

Finally allowed to breathe,
And as the drifted memories paint echoes on my water stained ceiling, -
we will never be featured on US or Weekly,
I know in heart of hearts, you live to be my Essence -
I walk around in hollow graves
Wishing yet not praying for forgiveness,
