what worries me (lets get that out of the way first )

boosts the performance

of LHC computing The LHC Grid

Fest, held last Friday at CERN in

Geneva, Switzerland, and at several

sites around the world, commemorated

the readiness of the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid

(WLCG). At full capacity,

the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world's

largest particle accelerator, is expected to

produce more than 15 million Gigabytes

of data each year. Hundreds of millions

of subatomic particles will collide each second,

presenting a massive data challenge.

The mission of the WLCG is to build

and maintain the data storage and analysis

infrastructure for this immense flow of data,

thus helping physicists open new

frontiers in our understanding of the

Universe. This ambitious project

connects and combines the IT power

of more than 140 computer

centres in 33 countries...

in other words they will fully control our last true feedom too!

democracy or capitalism...

If a group of people with

gold, diamonds and money

were stranded on an island

that had no resources such as food,

clean air and water, their wealth

would be irrelevant to their survival.

It is only when resources are scarce

that money can be used to control their distribution.

One could not, for example, sell the air

we breathe or water abundantly flowing

down from a mountain stream.

Although air and water are

valuable, in abundance they cannot be sold.

what i've been doing lately.... 

this was the best i was impressed with last nights show, being in the large venue it was  (the staples center) and it has yet to sell out.. the courage of these independent film makers and artists is to say the least inspiring.

Many people believe that David Koresh (or the Branch Davidians) were responsible for the deaths of the 74 men, women and children who died in the inferno at Waco on April 19, 1993. This is the story that the FBI put out. It is a lie. The guns they had were legal. The local sheriff investigated and found no basis for complaints against them. These were law-abiding American citizens, even if they thought differently to most other folks. They trusted the U.S. Constitution to ensure their political rights, but they were murdered by agents acting under the authority of the U.S. government. Read this page if you believe otherwise. Waco occurred under the presidency of Bill Clinton, with Janet Reno and Wesley Clark in supporting roles. Already back in 1993 the US government demonstrated its contempt for the American people by carrying out a massacre in order to "demonstrate" (on prime time TV) its supposed "authority" (a tactic favored by fascist governments). Following the usurpation of the presidency in 2000 by the psychopath George W. Bush, and the subsequent installation of the insane John Ashcroft as Bush's Himmler, things became much worse. On 9/11 about forty times as many people were murdered as at Waco. In both cases the murderers have so far gone unpunished.

The Scorpion and the Frog

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?” The scorpion says, “Because if I do, I will die too.”

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, he has just enough time to gasp "you've doomed us both".... “Why?”
