The Regency took inspiration from Grecian style dresses with high waists and pale, understated colours. These could be very flattering on women making them look tall and slender, though some men thought they were too revealing! Most dresses were white, had a tight band just below the bust, small bell sleeves and a square cut neckline. Match that with a parasol and a fan and you have a lovely combination for any picnic or ball!
