served three years in U.S. Marine Corps, thirteen months in South Vietnam, three months at Khe Sanh (during seige of '68). put myself through college and received journalism degree. worked short time in journalism field and hated it! worked twelve years in Public Health field as public relations person and began writing poetry during college ('85). witnessed growth of HIV/AIDS into epidemic. was long-distance hiker as hobby. forced to retire due to illnesses and weaknesses caused by AGENT ORANGE exposure. favorite bands are: THE DOORS, STEELY DAN, SANTANA, CHICAGO, and the more obscure music of BEATLES and ROLLING STONES. favorite poets are: ROBERT FROST, CARL SANDBURG, WILLIAM CARLOS WILLIAMS, JAMES WHITCOMB RILEY, and some of WALT WHITMAN (but, i like most of his chocolate samplers lol...!
