Please take a moment to read this is a poem I wrote for my son and all the military everywhere.
Twas The Night
and all through the sand
Soldiers were shivering, on guard
protecting their fellow man
With their rifles all cocked
and ready to blow
While flashes of bombs bursting in air
like a horror picture show
No presents, no chimneys or
stockings hung with care
Just the weight of a Nation
on their shoulders to bare
Each wondering of their
families at home
But reality would set back in with a
chorus of wounded soldiers moans
Never complaining or griping
putting their lives on the line
Carefully crawling or walking
through fields of land mines
A soldier all alone in the dark
on Christmas Eve
They'll be home even if
it's only in their dreams
So as you snuggle all cozy
all warm in your beds
With visions of a Merry Christmas
dancing in your heads
Remember there's a soldier fighting
all through this night
So you can wake up each
morning to Freedoms light
Putting their lives on the line
not only on Christmas day
But throughout the year
with all their hearts for little pay
Please keep the military
in your hearts and prayers
Remember them always
show them how much you care
So as I end my poem
and say good night
Merry Christmas to all the Military
thanks for never giving up the fight
A Military Prayer
I say a little prayer
For my son Josh
and the military everywhere
Please keep them safe
and out of harms way
Give each the strength and hope
to face another day
Let each one feel the love
and hugs sent from home
Never let them for one minute
feel abandoned or alone
Without their courage, protection
love for their fellow countrymen
Our world would surely fall apart
where would we all be then?
So God if your listening
and I sure hope you are
Please carry my love and prayers
to all soldiers near and far

Caring, loving and giving
every moment of everyday
Such a wonderful friendship
the world could never repay
Always there to lend an ear
when you need a friend
He will never leave you
you can count on him till the end
Many obstacles have gotten in his way
too many forks in the road
But never to tired or bitter
to help others carry their load
A wonderful and caring Father
he loves his son so
A kinder or gentler person
you will never know
If I had one wish that
I could wish today
I would wish that
only happiness would come his way
He deserves the best
that life has to give
I know I am a happier person
he brings out the best within

We lost my husband's Jason's Father to Prostrate Cancer on September 2, 2007
he was a Father too me as well.
I lost my Grandfather too Lung Cancer as well.

You have a lovely page, and such wonderful dedications to those in the military. My brother currently serves our country in Iraq, and to find this was inspiring and comforting. Although my brother serves in the Army, I pray for all the men and women in the Armed Forces, that they stay safe and out of harm's way, and that hopefully they will all be returned home to us in one piece.
