Recently, I have fallen in love with Tool, and i thought I'd share the greatest lyrics to one of the best songs I have ever heard...
Angels on the sideline,
Puzzled and amused.
Why did Father give these humans free will?
Now they're all confused.
Don't these talking monkeys know that Eden has enough to go around?
Plenty in this holy garden, silly monkeys
Where there's one you're bound to divide it
Right in two
Angels on the sideline,
Baffled and confused.
Father blessed them all with reason,
And this is what they choose?
Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground.
Silly monkeys give them thumbs they forge a blade
And where there's one they're bound to divide it
Right in two
Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground.
Silly monkeys give them thumbs they make a club,
And beat their brother down.
How they survive so misguided is a mystery.
Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability,
To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here.
[Cutting it all right in two
/ Cut it all right in two]
/ Cutting our love right in two]
Fight over the clouds, over wind, over sky
Fight over your lie, over blood, over anything
Fight over love, over sun, over nothing
Fight till they die,
(Ahhh!) over what? for their ending
Angels on the sideline again,
[Mixing love / Benched along] with patience and reason.
Angels on the sideline again,
Wondering where this tug of war will end.
[Cutting it all right in two
/ Cut it all right in two]
/ Cutting our love right in two]
(Great lyrics)
I love poetry, not the mushy gushy stuff, the in your face tell me something that I have never heard before stuff. The damn, I wish I had said that first stuff. The wow, they had the balls to say that stuff, yeh, that's what I like. I write from my soul and my experiances and all of that, so yeh, here is some other stuff about me...
When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons. We cease to grow.
Anais Nin
We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office.
Aesop
"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
Gandhi
"War has never hurt anyone expcept the people who died."
Salvador Dali
"Sometimes we have to fall down in order to regain our balance."
-Me
I really want to talk about my religious beliefs now. I call myself agnostic, I believe that there is something bigger than us, something that I think most of us have yet to understand, but I refuse to call that something "God". I think that the bible is open to interpretation, and that is where alot of people are stuck. They want so bad to take the bible and belive it word for word the way that it is written, and I just cannot do that. I do not believe in heaven and hell the way that the bible writes it. I believe in reincarnation, that we live and live until we reach our own heaven or hell, life is what you make it. I am a strong believer in Karma, that everything, no matter what it is, happens for a reason, and we have to remember that. Well, I guess that's about all I have to say on that, so onto other things.
I am a psychology major, I love it. I love being able to study what makes people act the way that they do, it is very interesting to me.
and now, more...
My favorite songs are:
Passenger
Me and Bobby Mcgee
You oughta know
tao of now (spoken word)
All Along The Watchtower
Ball and chain
Purple Rain
War Pigs
Shine on you crazy Diamond
Come Together
Bulls on Parade
Knockin on Heavens Door
The Mna Who Sold The World

alot of others that I cannot even remember
and of course, Imagine:
Imagine there's no heaven
it's easy if you try
no hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
living for today
Imagine there's no countries
it isn't hard to do
nothing to kill or die for
no religion too
imagine all the people
living life in peace
imagine no possesions
I wonder if you can
no need for greed or hunger
a brotherhood of man
imagine all the people
sharing all the world
You may say I'm a dreamer
but I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
and the world will be as one.
I wrote this because every single word of this is how I believe, John Lennon was an awesome and inspiring artist and I hope you all will take the time to really think about what he was saying in this song!

Another poet that I know alot of you probably have never ehard of is Saul Williams, he is one of the greatest writers ever, and I have included a little bit of one of his poems here:
What happens to a society
when mystery is labeled
as evil?
It yeilds an ever-connected chain
of false labels and misinterpretations
The indigenous are labeled
as savage terrorists
and plotted against
The open-hearted
are manipulated into slavery
The vulnerable are penetrated
by force of law

tarnishedheart on October 12, 2006If we could change the world through what we wrote, this world would be a better place. Thanks for your comment on my poetry, I appreciate it, but I still like to believe that if I or any other decent person were president and had the fate on the world on their shoulders, money would not be an issue.
