transcend stars’ brilliance.

Flooded with light and warmth comfort beckons;
a haven wafting aromas sublime.

Juxtaposed ancient history’s wealth of wisdom
gained through scars carved into surface and beyond;

Behavior does not bow its head in shame as often as truly needed alas

Shame has no need to bow at honesty’s door; though open hearts exposed may bleed at times.

Poverty and I were well acquainted.
I spent my childhood wearing her worn cloak.

Like vultures circling overhead without end
feeding on serenity’s carrion

Experience stoops with age;
