I’ve shook death’s hand countless times
In many forms, yet I am kept alive through

When all hope dies,
We often forget optimism.

Another day, another morning,
I must make the mask
-
I'm learning to cry,
About my past,

My year was drawing to a close, I felt
it slipping as does water off an otter's pelt.

Based on a quote from Henry Thoreau.

I see children marching
to the grave

The stars as God's daisy chain.

In my room
My small little room
-
Who is the
Most broken of them all?
-
I look to my friends and see something I never knew before
I look within myself and remember things I never knew before

"Summertimes Past" Giggling kids slamming doors
after they've finished with their chores.

Before I can give it away
Before I can say those words

i should have never looked your way
i should have never been there

Oh, good heavens, she thinks she's in love!
If only she knew what love was truly

Her lips are frozen in place,
Their pale hue becoming paler,

The ocean whispers softly and reaches out to me
I feel destiny calling with such intensity
-
Breathing fast
don't look back
-
Ashes to ashes
and lust to lust,

His shoes of stone holding him from
What could be his death; his rebirth
-
My own self now begun –
it has been too long.

If dreams were undone
And fortunes unwon,

Lovers of the past
I knew wouldn't last,

aspirations adjusted
but i was the same person

Reflecting the light so she may see
her newly cut hair and her fake beauty.

I will sing of our winter now
approaching

I give much consideration
To what I cannot see
