Personality Traits:

My mind is as free as the wind and as dynamic as the weather. I grasp a gentle spirit and a vivid imagination which allows me to have more freedom for myself than most others. I find myself drawn to the simple things in life that are often over-looked. I love the beauty and the wonders of nature. While others may be at a party surrounded by friends, you'll find me laying out under the stars engaged within the site. You'll find me watching the sunset while listening to slow, instrumental music. You'll find me laying out in a field watching the clouds paint pictures for me. I'm truly not your average person you'll bump into very often, but then again: Is anybody?



Random Facts:

-My name is Valerie, and I live in a really small town.
-I'm an only child, which is something I've grown to appreciate.
-I adore my family and my friends.

-I've been an ice hockey fan since around 2001. GO REDWINGS!
-I fell in love with baseball in 2006. GO TIGERS!
-The TV series, Kung Fu, has had a powerful influence in my life since discovering it.
-I like a wide variety of music, but my favorite category is 70's rock.
-The Eagles seemed to have written out my life's soundtrack.
-I've sung as far back as I can recall.
-I've played piano for 13 years and electric bass for 6 years.
-I thrive on the night hours. You'll find me up and about at all hours of the night.
-I love the simple things in life that nature gives us.
-Lava lamps, UFO lamps, candles, and blacklights are beyond amazing.
-I find interest in the paranormal, actually it's more like a fascination.
-I love anything to do with horror even though I strongly believe in and follow God.
-I'm a romantic in a lot of ways, but at the same time: I'm not.
-I'm very sentimental and appreciate the smallest acts of kindness.
-I'm a dreamer and live more within my mind than the world itself.
-I have my hopes and dreams, but I try to live in reality the best I can.
-I believe it's safe to say I'm one of the most laid-back people you'll meet.


My Influences:

I don't do much reading at all, so if you name off a famous poet/author, I may e-look at you funny. Although, this doesn't mean that I don't have my influences in writing. My two biggest influences are actually lyricists, and they are none other than Bernie Taupin (who writes for Elton John) and Don Henley (who is with the Eagles as well as having a successful solo career.) Those two writers changed my life, and when I read their lyrics for the first time, I knew immediately that they had the style I wanted to loosely pattern my own after.

My Diary Entry/Latest News:

My writing has been put to music!!! In February of 2008, I began working with a singer/songwriter from the state of Tennessee. We met over on myspace, and after reading a good portion of my work, he asked me if I'd like to pen out his lyrics for him. We have just finished our first cd! It's called Profunda-Rock "Acoustic Journey", and it can be found on digstation.com, CDbaby, along with many others to come.
