Not all of these are my best; it just happens that these won for whatever reason. That reason is probably a lack of competitors x.X
I've written stuff that I like, stuff that isn't worth your time or mine, and stuff in between. Honestly, I've written pure brain poison, but for the sake of progress bookkeeping and congregating my poetry, I've put it all here.
Please, if you're here to read, read some of the cooler stuff. Otherwise, just read all of it ^.~
Most of the recent stuff is better than the older stuff. But, there are a few tolerable older ones too.
A good one to start with would be Star Surfing. It won a local poetry contest. http://allpoetry.com/poem/3568066
You may read my poetry however you like. I've put in punctuation in most of my poems for visual appeal and for reading style guidance if you care a lot about that kind of thing. For the most part, I intended for pauses in reading only where there is punctuation, and for enjambment to be read without an interjected pause. If I intended for it to be read otherwise, I usually try to make it clear. Although I usually write with intent, interpretation is ultimately the reader's decision.
Constructive reviews are always very welcome.
If you are a member, please log in and leave a comment on w/e you decide to read. It would really mean a lot to me, even if it isn't constructive or anything.
If you're not a member, I encourage you to make an account! It's free, quick, and easy. You'll get to join a flourishing online community, receive and give comments, and participate in contests and online workshops. Most importantly, you'll be able to leave comments on my page and receive comments from me!
If you've ever commented on my poetry:
I want you to know that I appreciate each and every comment I get, no matter how useless or mundane, though I do prefer constructive comments. Although I may not explicitly reply to you in thanks, please understand that I read your comments and appreciate them.
Anything marked "hw" in the author's box means 8th grade. If it's some other year's hw, it'll be marked so.
I don't choose backgrounds and fancy fonts; it's way too troublesome. I only did it for Bitter Homecoming (http://allpoetry.com/poem/1534163) to match the rest of the series. If you can think of an excellent bg/font/decor scheme for me, I'm very open to any suggestions.
I'd like to give props to my 8th grade Language Arts teacher, Ms. McDonald. She's married now, so her name has changed. Her class is a major reason I'm writing anything at all today. We did this poetry project in her class. I stayed up until 3 AM for a few nights (pretty late for me in 8th grade) trying to finish the poem quota. In the end, she told me she really liked Beauty (http://allpoetry.com/poem/1521412). I was flustered and surprised. Later, I found out an acquaintance of mine (http://allpoetry.com/Highof75) was selected by poetry.com for publication, and I eagerly approached her trying to get published too. Turns out poetry.com is a big scamsite that accepts every piece of garbage they get (not to say her poem was garbage), but discussion with my acquaintance led me to this site, where I decided to upload all my poetry so I could keep track of it. I browsed the site and entered a few contests. After winning some, I got really excited. I began reading and commenting, and eventually I developed a genuine appreciation of poetry.
So there's no confusion about it:
I don't condone cutting, murder, suicide, rape, or anything else illegal for that matter. Please don't delete my poems.
