It was cold
And the ice in the air was biting at my hands like razor blades. -
/ These daydreams never go away / and all I ever seem to do is... / complain / about the things that never really mattered / / anyway...

Star; / As humble as the night, / That kissed the moon goodbye. / / You are the light that guides me. / / Sombre, sombre star / You cry for love-struck constellations, / Yet keep your head so high / /

trashflavoredtrash on May 25, 2006The poem "The Chaotic Hipbones" is based on the character I created who kept a fictional online journal with the same name as the poem. I wanted to reflect upon what it was like for my character, Brenda, at the beginning of the journal, which I'v ekept since November. I, myself, have never had an eatign disorder, though. I was trying not to sarcastically glorify it, in a way that it's from her perspective that it's so glamorous, yet not.
When I first read "I just wish I couldn't relate to this poem", I had thought you'd typed "could". I was going to say "Why ever would you want that?"... but then I realized. My very best friend in the whole world has an eating disorder, and I've posed as a bulimic and anorectic in some cases of expirementing with characters before.
So I'd just like to tell you, you're not alone. I know what you're going through... even though I truly don't. I have a little off-thing wear I make bracelets that support recovery of a "cause". One of the causes is EDs. I've been wearing the same since February or March. I don't know why I'm telling you this.
I don't know. Maybe it's because I'm making a connection to you. Sorry for the long comment.
