A lot of people poetry is about lies and honesty and how people value that in life, but they then turn to other and cheat and steal.
It seems pretty ironic, that the things that we most value in another person is the think that we always forget to give, its like people are always looking for someone to ask if they are ok, forever searching for someone to care, forgetting that they have the power to ask someone else the same questions or even talk to someone about what’s going on.
It’s the power of speech. Maybe to value honestly you have to have come up against lies, like to truly value love or happiness you must have seen the other side of the emotions spectrum the pain, and hurt and sadness.
Poetry should be about something that touches you, a form of expression, honestly and lies mixed up. it shouldn’t be about the obvious, for that is sometimes dull, it should be like a window into looking at how someone thinks and feeling, a window into there souls. Sometimes its confusing and crazy, and sometimes it changes how you think and maybe makes you look at something different.
That’s what poetry is about to me.
